WTB: Keihin FCR mx carb

Hey guys,

I am looking to pick up a used Keihin FCR MX card from any 250-450cc fourstroke MX bike. Preferably off a CRF 250 or 450.... but I am not picky and should be able to work with any CRF/KXF/YZF/RMX carb.

Ah, nice. I have one but it's attached to the '03 CRF450R my son and I are fixing up. I'll keep my eye out for one.

I placed a wanted ad on cr500riders.com. Those guys put 500 engines in CRF's all the time there and sell the stuff they don't need. We"ll see....

Thanks Robert ... I appreciate that.

Ebay wants a fair bit for used FCR's and part outs on CRF450's are not common up this way.

Also if u happen to stumble across some CRF USD forks and triples at the same time .... I might know a guy who's interested. =)

If things work out, I'll be doing one myself next year based on an '08 CRF250R.

Keep your eye on thumpertalk. the FCR39 is a popular mod for the DRZ. I'm wanting to say there is a guy there that specializes in the FCR for the DRZ and offers them at around $500. Don't quote me on that.

if you love your motorcycle, set it free.. if it comes back and hits you.. you highsided

Will do ... I find there classifieds a little strange. I guess I am just more familiar and comfortable with the WT format and members.

one word of caution (well, maybe a few words)....

there are a lot of bricked FCR MX carbs out there for sale. Make sure that the carb was never split in half or completely soaked in solvent. There are "overachievers" out there who take it completely apart or soak it for cleaning etc, just to realize they got very expensive door stop. Two carb halfs are sealed with gasket and epoxy. The problem is getting the 2 parts sealed up again. Small air and fuel passages. If the passages cross talk or leak, it never works right.

If carbs torx security crews are missing yellow paint or look like they were tampered with, I wouldn't risk it.

Well Robert .... you sir are awesome!

Turns out the 08 crf450 carb is a 40mm FCR and very desirable ... plus the guy you put me in touch with lives in Quebec/Canada ... so local funds and dirt cheap shipping. Just working out the details now.

Thanks Santa HRC!!!!!!
