wtb 15t 530 sprocket for 919

After having a ktm duke for a short period of time, I put a 15t front sprocket on it. I know how people rave about the 17t being the cats meow but I want to try things out before I do the 520 conversion. I rarely see interstate speeds on my commute and i am used to vibrations at speed. Any body have one to get rid of?

While I donít have one to get rid of, I did recently install one and am well pleased. I also went +2 in the rear.

hmmmmm. coondawg07, did you go to the 520 chain or stick with the 530? this sounds like fun.

I stuck with the 530. It limited my top speed closer to a corrected 120, but itís sooo much more fun on the back roads or around town.

top speed

I am not interested in the top speed. I never ride with anyone. I hardly ever ride faster than traffic. well.... not too much. I try to stay below "go to jail" speeding. But I love acceleration and feeling the front wheel lifting.

Hey Sam, tell me more about the 690.

What did you like about it, what did you dislike about it?

Loved the weight, 350#. The seating position, very upright dirt bike style. It was very easy to work on. Valve adjustments were a snap. Never need to sync it. Lots of power for the weight. Very mean growl in the exhaust. Nice looking bike. wheelied easy.
Disliked the fact that it needed lots of maintenance. only 1.8 qts of oil. Two screens for filters. Required very expensive oil. Oil change with filters was around 65$ every 3000 miles. Valve adjustment were NEEDED every 6500 miles. Luckily I could get valve shims at the local Harley Davidson dealer. The closest KTM dealer was two hours away.

I just looked and I have a few of those Honda 530 15T sprockets on the shelf just collecting dust. $23 Shipped CONUS just to get rid of them

Installed my 15t front sprocket. LOVE IT!! Lots of fun. I don't understand what people complain about handlebar buzz. Maybe its because I had a big single as my last bike and the one before that was a 650 versus twin but I think this bike is smooth. I briefly had it up to interstate speed and it was so smooth that I couldn't believe I was going that fast. Glad I did it. I am still cruising in fifth gear and am surprised to find another. Unlike my versus where I was always looking for 7th. Love this bike.

I never get any vibes in my stock handle bars. I do get a little buzz in my left foot peg but only around the 4500 rpm mark.

Slightly old post I know, but am trying anyway.

I also just put a 15 on the front and it's amazing, so much more acceleration out of corners,
and definitely not too revvy, not as much as the new Honda CB1000R is.

I'm also considering doing the plus 2 on the rear, but I'd need a new chain to do it.
The 15 gives 2.87 ratio, (standard ratio is 2.69) plus 6.3 torque and minus 6.3 on the speedo
The 15 with a 45 rear gives 3.00 ratio, plus 10.4 torque and minus 10.4 speedo
I'd have to buy a speedo corrector then.
I'm still with the 530 chain as I only changed the front sprocket.
What's the advantage of the 520, is it just less weight, does it last as long?
