OEM Shield Hard ware

I recently got Fooled by a sale on an OEM Shield thinking that screws included meant all the Hard Ware. I actually got a bare plastic screen with nothing else, But I did receive a nice SCREWING. I foolish thought that All the Hornet Riders were all honest and not price gougers. My fault for not paying attention to the person who had only 11 posts total and about 6-7 were about this OEM. Please if you have Hard Ware for sale , PM me. If you need a bare screen, PM me and I'll just go back to my Givi fairing. Thanks Dickey

+1 on refer here. If this guy misreps his classifieds then he has no right asking for free stuff.

Plus don't you need at least 50 or 100 posts to participate in that pay it forward thread? That was established by Heli IIRC, at the end of the day its your call

So we understand exactly what you received, all you got was the plastic shield? No brackets and no spacers or bolts to mount the sheild to the bike? I re-read his classified and I was under the assumption that it would come ready to mount being that he states "had on the bikecabout a week and didn't like it" I'm interested to see if he replies to this thread.

I posted that the screws were Included then when I went to send the shield I could not locate them. Figured it wasnt a huge deal since thyvare just screws. I never once said brackets were included. He assumed they were instead of clarifying and look what happened. Everything is settled between he and I. Also I don't appreciate the slander that took place here.

What would the screws be used for if there were no brackets?

There is no slander here, you did exactly what he said you did (look up the definition.) You took advantage of a 919 brother and don't have the testicular fortitude to admit it. If you made it right - post up and give us a chance to say thank you and welcome back.

Basically you screwed him for the screws so that in itself was not as advertised if you want to get technical with not advertising the sale with brackets.

Your listing did sound like you were including brackets although not directly saying it. Nevertheless it was misleading and were not here for that type of conduct. We don't have a feedback system or anyone to complain to as a forum so if there were bad dealings you basically have to answer to the forum.

Okay. Whatever obviously things are good between me and the buyer. I did not screw him whatsoever. I would of gladly gave me the 2 dollars it cost for the screws because I lost them and I was selling only the shield because I was going to maybe get a different one where I would still use the oem brackets with it. Whenever you buy something online you state what is included I did exactly that. Any company anywhere is going to tell you the same thing, sorry that you assumed, not our responsibility. Go ahead call me something I'm not I was just doing business like I always do. I sell on ebay etc all the time and have 100 % feedback.

Obviously not all is good between you and the buyer. Read the OP. You sold him a screen that used to go for $73 + shipping new for $100. (unless you guys worked a deal)

You keep doing the way you do "business" but that's not how we do it in WT. Maybe we'll get a mod to sticky this thread for a bit as an impromptu feedback system.

"I have an oem Honda windscreen for sale 100 shipped. Used for about a week then decided I didn't like it. Comes with screws."

Anyone who wouldn't want to mislead a buyer would say, "brackets not included" vs "Comes with screws."

The sale is done and the buyer has admitted to not asking about a bracket and trusting your low post count. If this is 'how you do business' and you didn't realize it, you ought to change it to accommodate full disclosure and not mislead. Carry on

Does/did the OEM windscreen come with the bracket when purchased from a dealer?

If it did, then assuming it was included with the used OEM screen is completely logical. The buyer should have asked in order to be certain, but the seller should have clearly disclosed "does not include bracket".

The seller was deliberately misleading by including screws in the sale description. This implies that mounting hardware is included. What use are screws without the bracket?

Also, stating that the screen was on the bike and removed implies that the whole "kit" was removed and included in the sale.

They do come with the brackets. My question is why didn't the buyer ask for pictures? I never buy anything without pictures to describe description better. He never said they were included. I would have asked for both. Just saying. Everyone is so caught up in trying to call dibs on everything first it got overlooked. Give the dude a break its not all his fault.

i agree, instead of blaming game lets try to improve the process of buying and selling. Picture is good idea and detailed description should be mandatory. I think it is a good learning example for both seller and buyer...and all of us.
