M2 Windscreen

Looking for a Buell M2 Windscreen with mounting brackets. Hopefully someone has one and doesn't use it anymore.

I doubt someone has they are not using but what color are you looking for? I know you can get a carbon fiber one with brackets at Americansportbikes.com and with the brackets its about 150 bucks. I got one on mine and you just have to tweak the brackets a little.

Non CF I am not sure but you can probably find them on some of the fairing providers (Airtech, hotbodies, sharkskins, etc...) You might actually have to call them and ask just because sometimes they do not list stuff for some of the discontinued bikes.

Not really picky on colors. Worst case is that I just paint it myself.

Were you able to find a good source for the M2 windscreen? I'm thinking I'd like to pick one up myself.

No, not really. You can find a carbon fiber one on ebay for 100 dollars from China.

Don't think I want it anymore.. but everytime I look at Helimech's bike I think differently.

Clorox,
Same here man. I ride without one, but the M2 sure does look tough on heli's bike.

Rpcraft,
Do you know what hardware is needed to mount one on the 9er, and where to get it?

That link I put up has some brackets right at the bottom of the screen for the American Sportcyle website and they will successfully mount up to your headlight bolts with that screen. The brackets are a little pricey but if you already had a screen then it would just be a matter of using those brackets and its all plug and play and they have a nice semigloss powdercoat finish.

FWIW I actually have a white ABS screen if anyone might be interested. I originally got it for my Hawk project and was going to have it hydrodipped to look like Carbon Fiber but the furthest I got was painting the back side with matt black Plasti-dip as an experiment but since I bought BP's Givi windscreen I am going to transfer the CF one off my Hornet to it the Hawk. I was thinking 60 bucks for it with shipping for anyone who may be interested and if they want I will finish Plasti-dipping it so that its all matt black or I can leave it as is and then you can peel off the Plasti-dip and prep it for the colors of your choice. I've already sanded it down some and sprayed it with some adhesion promotor.

Pics of the brackets and the fly screen.

Thanks guys!

I use the OEM Buell M2 brackets also sandwiched between the bucket and headlight brackets.. with a few slight mods/tweaks to push the windscreen forward a touch and match the 599 headlight spacing & lines.

I had too slot the lower hole that attaches to the bucket and oversize the upper holes that attach the windscreen. Also knife edged them a bit as well for eadier install, and dressed out the inner radius

Its on the list to make some stainless ones from scratch this winter.

They look simple enough, but like the F4i fork - 919 fender brackets i make its hard to produce all the bends to make matching mirrored sets.

That said .... I might make a run of them.

Yeah I tried to make a copy of the brackets my own self and the results were less than stellar, lol. I also was thinking about rounding the bottom line of the screen my own self so it fits better around the headlight but given the amount of mess CF makes when you start taking to trimming it I will wait until its cooler outside and the protective gear I plan on wearing for the job won't sweat me into cardiac arrest. I figure I will fix that and at the same time finish up the CF shields for the Danmoto exhaust cans.

Just bought me a spiffy white flyscreen for my 9er

The paint booth is clear atm so I'm undecided to stripe it or just paint it white.

CRAP!!! This is what I get for remodeling our bathroom i guess. O well, maybe someone else will be willing to part with one. I believe clorox is first in line though, considering its his thread.

On a seperate note. If someone wanted to get me some dimensions on the brakets for the M2 or the F4I fender, I could make matching sets. The shop I work in has a CNC break press, I could laser cut the parts from stainless and break them up on the press. If things will let up enough for some government jobs.

Ah I have been working on them for a little bit to go specifically with the Danmoto cans but I am sure they will work with other system with little effort or changes. I've gotten everything cut and the brackets ready but I just need to trim the edges of the carbon fiber so that they are perfectly straight, round the corners, and then sand the edges so they won't cut people. I have an older thread with some mock up photos if you look through some of my older posts.

Maybe I will get my stuff together and get them finished up this weekend and get them mounted on the 9'r so I can get some finished pictures and generate some interest. It's just such a mess cutting or trimming the carbon fiber pieces.

FYI, I have some flyscreen brackets for sale in the classifieds if that helps. I was going to to do the same thing you're doing, but sold the bike before I could get it done.
