I love my Sena SMH10!! Loud and clear. Be sure to update firmware for best results.

I no very little of the Scala other than some people swap out speakers with different versions due to quality.

What's the easiest way to update the firmware? Have had it for a year now, I'm sure there's something fancy I'm missing out on.

Go to their website and download the software. Follow the software steps for the upgrade.
FYI, I had to try mine a few times in order to get it to work. And I had to do the factory reset thing as well (you'll find that in the manual). It was a bit of a PIA but worth it in the end.
I wasn't getting any of the voice commands like battery level, menu etc... Now it's all good. I like it!

P.S.
Download the user manual for the new version once the unit is updated.

Just got the SMH10R, rode in the rain at 80mph, while talking to the wife on the phone. The key point to consider, is that there is almost no point to getting one of these headsets, IMO, unless you have a quality quiet helmet. I put my wife's on her $160 HJC and you can barely hear it. On my Shoei Neotech, it rocks, crystal clear even after earplugs are in. Can't comment on the others...

Picked up a Sena SMH10r recently, crystal clear audio on both ends, plus the size makes for a super clean install, especially if you can tuck the battery somewhere out of sight.

I have the regular SMH10. I give it a solid thumbs up. Very easy to use, great battery life, very clear audio.
