gopro

So I'm looking for a gopro. Anyone here have one that they are looking to sell?
Looking to spend no more than $200

Also, any input on models are greatly appreciated.

If you can find a 3 black for that price, jump on it. It's much better than the 2.

I just paid $350 US on a 3+ Black Edition. Looking at the specs it's the same as the new 4 Silver there was three features different but they were trivial to me. I got it off of Amazon because GoPro stopped selling it and so have other retailers.

Possibly looking for drift ghost or ghost S.
Actually I'm leaning towards the drift now after watching a ton of reviews.

Anyone have one of those they want to sell?

I got to see the Drift in action at a few racetracks now, and I'm not super impressed. Unless they've made great strides in build quality and video quality, they still can't touch a GoPro. They are really popular with the stunter crowd, I know that.

I've owned two GoPros. The hero 2 died (will not power on) about 14 months after purchase...while sitting on a shelf. My hero 3 black is 15mo old and had I bothered to chase down the issue when I first discovered it they would have replaced it. Just shaking the camera will turn the wifi on, resulting in a dead battery. It seems to be a somewhat common issue as I've found several references to it on the internet. Here's my own evidence.

They've lost me as a customer. They may be "low end" cameras in the realm of possibilities, but for what I do they are "high end" and unreliable.

As much as I like to keep my money, I think I'm gonna spend a few hundred bucks.
I have always saved money by buying the older "discontinued " models. Only to be left with something that's outdated and no longer supported by the manufacturer.

What about the HTC RE? Maybe not as rugged as the GoPro, but it's cheap enough...

Sorry to hear of your issues - I had the battery overheat problem with my Hero2, but it was fixed with a firmware update.

A lot of motovloggers on YouTube use the Drift and Drift S. You can tell there's a huge difference in quality from then to a GoPro. One of the more popular, LeadPin, went back to using a GoPro after viewing the difference when he edited a video combining video from his Drift and his girlfriends GoPro.

The HD Hero for $139 ish at most places is a NEW entry level model. It is not a repackaged first generation HD Hero. The video and sound quality of this model lies somewhere between a Hero 2 and a Hero 3, the sound quality and night recording is better than the Hero 2 but it doesn't have all of the options and gizmos that the Hero 3 and newer have. I don't personally own one but I've done a lot of research on it as I plan on buying one in the spring since my original HD Hero isn't that great.

So I splurged!
Drift ghost S
These are the main reasons why I went this direction.
-Universal 1/4" mount makes for endless mounting options
-pivoting lens for leveling the image no matter where you mount it
-water proof to 3 meters without the need for a case
-two way remote included with the camera
-External 2" viewer
-gorilla glass on viewer
-removable battery
-longer battery life

Plus I dare to be different...lol. much like the Apple / Android situation.

*The video is as good as any gopro minus the 4k option. That doesn't bother me a bit.
