***FOUND*** WANTED--919 gas tank

Well its been a while since I've posted on the forum. The 9er saw a lot of miles over the summer, and unfortunately on one of the trips, the tank stopped venting and split. Got it repaired but I just noticed there's some slight seeping by the weld repair. Looks like the crack is getting worse, and I can't risk it. Soooo I'm looking for a new tank. Colors not that much of an issue, same with condition. Scratches or small dents are ok, just nothing major. So if anybody got one lying around just let me know what state, and how much you'd like for it. Thanks!

brand new red gas tank for sale
Hey folks,
1. I've been reading this site since I got my 06 919, and am grateful for all of the info, and the periodic laughs.
2. I bought a new gas tank a couple of years ago after my bike fell off my stand and the tank got dented. I was horrified, and bought a brand new tank from the dealer for $580.00. I have since gotten used to the dent, and since I ride a lot and I'm not so careful, my bike now has other little dents and scratches
3. I've decided to sell the new tank. I have not even unwrapped it. I can see that the decals are on it.
4. I have no idea how to put it in classified and add pictures, so if someone will tell me how, I will list it properly.
5. I'm thinking $400 +shipping. I'm in Michigan.
I've been riding a long time, and this bike has become my favorite

this may be what you are looking for. good luck.. this guy just running this in classifieds here .

I've got a tank (candy glory red) with a dent and scuff on the left corner. The damage also pushed up the metal a tad on that side but the tank is still airtight. Interested in pictures of the tank?

Thanks for the replies! MF1VE I'd definitely like to see some pics of the one with a little damage. I would love to set a brand new tank on the ol' girl, and it darn sure deserves it, but this bike is more function over form (pics of my rack pannier build to come) Thanks again!

MF1VE thanks for the pics! it actually looks better than I'd expected. What are you thinking for a price? Carotman- any chance could get a pic or two of yours, and a price? Color isn't really an issue as the bike isnt factory color anyway, so price and condition are more important. Although condition obviously doesnt matter too much as long as its functional. Anyways, thanks a bunch for the replies!
