WTB stock exhaust front section for 919

WTB a stock exhaust front section for a later model 919. I want the stainless version, no paint or coatings. Let me know if you have any that you are willing to part with.

Thanks

You're looking for the header? I thought they were all stainless?

RMB - someone can correct me but I believe the 2002, 3 & 4's had black pipes. Then the 2005, 6 & 7's had the in-finished stainless.

ashvegas919 - it is the later version as described above correct? And it is not painted or coated with anything correct? if so, how much do you want for it? And could you add a picture?

Thanks Mark61

Islandboy,

Not sure about the years, or why yours has a SS pipe?? I do have a y pipe from an 02 and it is black. And one that I have seen advertised on e-bay from an 02 was black?? So I really don't know factually what determined when Honda made them black and when they made them SS. I thought I recall reading about it on this site about the years each one was made. In any case, I do want the SS version.

Thanks for the comment though, maybe we will get the scoop on it before this thread is over??

Maybe it's the Y pipe you are thinking about. 02 to 05 are black steel without a cat. Later years are stainless with a cat. I might be off on the years a bit. I've seen aftermarket stainless Y pipes without cats on ebay.

Islandboy is on the trail. Speaking US bikes Y-pipe, 02-05 black painted no cat unless it is a CA bike, in which case they had SS & a cat. All US 06-07 got the SS w/cat.

Here is one but I would think a nicer one would turn up before long.

I have seen these stainless no cat link pipes on ebay before. Cheaper on ebay than the following link but haven't seen em for a bit on ebay.

Your talking about headers or y pipe?

All US 919s had stainless headers from the factory. The Y-pipe changed colors/materials as others noted above, but not the headers.

Thanks CB700S & Islandboy,

I knew there was more to the story but was unclear about the details. I have a 2006 and it is SS from the header to the Y-pipe and of course the canisters.

ashvegas919, I am interested in the header pipe. I was reluctant to call it that as not to make someone think I was looking for an aftermarket header. I am interested in just the OEM header from the head back to the Y-pipe (but not including the Y-pipe).

Sorry for all the confusion guys.

Given your mods you should consider a 900RR header. People been putting them on since day 1 & you are probably the only person who can use it. Stainless ones available.

Bryce919er, you are likely correct. But I was trying to keep my bike period specific if that makes sense. Not sure if that was your bike with the 4 to 1 and bags, but I think it looks great. In fact several of the ones I have seen on here look really good.

But on that note, I dug up an old OEM header to work on. I have some mods I want to try on the stock header.

Thanks to everyone for your help and information. If anyone is interested, I will post the work I do on the stock header. However I will not have the performance results for a while.
