Ti Sato cans- Nearly New

I have a set of Ti Satos, that have been on the bike since last week. They were brand new out of the box when I got them, and now maybe have 300 miles on them.

I am not sure where I'm going from here as to exhaust, but the Satos are not really what I want. As to pics, I will have some posted when I get home from work.

I just wanted to see if there was any interest. I'd like $715 shipped, but I'm open to reasonable offers.

They're Gen. 1's aren't they?

To loud, I think the Gen. 2 are supposed to be quieter and a little less prone to the stink.

They are Gen 2.

I am getting rid of them to satisfy my fiancee. The stink is greatly reduced with these, but its not gone completely. And with the 900rr header, there is no vibration on the back of the seat, which she says makes for a much more comfortable ride.

Ok, I'm out! I think she is planning on getting me something for my birthday since it was received very strangely??? I'm confused by the reaction... not upset just a different reaction that was strongly saying no without saying no!

Haha, my fiance WANTS me to modify stuff!! She doesn't like the way most bikes or cars look from the factory. She bought me a CRF450X and likes it when I get new parts for the dirt bike, the 919, or my car. She wants a F-250 and a CRF 230 and already has a list of mods for both.

Your woman sounds awesome. I need me one like that. I had an date with a female one time and she was pissed that I drove my '77 celica that was painted with a stereo, because she didn't believe it was going to make it to the movies. I left her by her mail box and called someone else.

It is more enjoyable when she supports you in it. So I've learned to get her involved and it really pays off in the end.

In other words... Support from your significant other will pay dividends in the end!

I agree with this. With the weather getting nicer, I wanna take the bike everywhere I can. And getting her to get on the back is part of taking it everywhere. So, if I change the exhaust, she'll be more receptive to getting on the back, which means I get to ride more versus being trapped in a cager. Besides, its nice to ride with a woman squeezing tight behind you.

do you still have your stock cans? You could just put them back on until you sell the Satos. I'll trade you even a pair of stock cans for the satos if you need them.

My wife doesn't really say anything too bad about me having a bike, but she definitely speaks up about me not spending any more money on it than I have to. This is because she worries about money in this economy and secretly doesn't really like me having a bike.

When I first got it, she swore she would never get on it. Heck, the only passenger I've ever had was her sister. Now that she's pregnant, I don't even want her on it until our new baby is born. I've made comments about us taking a trip on the bike to one of my favorite stops about 60 miles away and she is getting a little more receptive to the idea.

I met my wife at the race track & now she works as an instructor with me

It's one thing to have a spouse that supports what you do, but it's nothing short of amazing to have one that is out there on the track with you & that understands what it is that makes you drive 31 hours just to spend 4-1/2 hours of a weekend riding around a racetrack

We live well within our means so that we can have a garage full of bikes

Well, Hell.

These things being stainless would explain why they shine more than I figured titanium would. And also why the heat shields and cans look like they don't match, because they don't.

I'm sorry if my sales post was misleading to anyone out there.

I probably have some Sato Cannisters that are already powdercoated black...

I had a couple sets made up when I was doing my RC51 thing & crashed one set then Sato made me a custom set of one-off gold cannisters & if I remember correctly I removed the black ones & just wrapped them up in a box.

one of each

Forgive the thread-jack (think of it as free bumps?), but I scuffed up my Satos some with my saddlebags (actually looks like I polished them)...they're Gen 2 too, presumably (no badge and they look identical)...can I actually powdercoat them? I'll be honest, I'm not too wise as to the ways of metal and treatment options available.

Edit: Don't normally go for gold, but I'm a bit mesmerized by that pipe/wheel combo.

I knew I had some somewhere... I was looking through box after box tonight in the garage trying to find an ancient USB ZipDrive to pull off some old .eps file for my boss and found these

They're filthy dusty, but otherwise in good condition

So if I put these Satos on Ebay, am I going to generate interest from here on a set of barley used Sato cans. I wonder only because when my 900rr stuff got posted on Ebay, all of a sudden they got noticed and wanted on here. Any takers?
