Thinking about selling my 02 919

Has just below 15K miles on it now. I've put 7K miles on it since July, mostly commuting and one long weekend trip.

New Avon Sport Sts, Regina chain, mirrors, plugs, and a thorough goin thru at 11K miles.

Bike is stock with exception of K&N filter and velocity stack. I have the original air box cover though.

It's factory flat black, few small scratches:
One small scratch on tank next to seat, both side covers have small scratches that are hard to see unless you are looking for them... rear fender has been cut down a bit... looks pretty sharp though.
Decals have all been stripped off of the bike.

I'm asking 4500... and I'm firm at that price.

I'm kicking myself for putting it up for sale... My daily commute is 82 miles, 76 of which is 4 lane slab. The 9er is more than capable of hauling me back and forth to work, alas, I long for some wind protection now that the weather has turned cold... My wife is standing behind me threatening to kick me as well... she likes the 9er.

Bike is located in Wright City Missouri, if there is any interest here I can post a pic, and PM contact info.

Thanks for looking

If your wife likes it and your already kicking yourself...

DON'T DO IT! Later on you'll regret it!

Not sure who makes/sells it, but someone has an oversized windscreen that fits the 919. Seen pics a couple of times.

It's a fool who looks for logic in the chambers of the human heart.

I bought my 03 91 9with 15,000 miles on it for 4099 out the door. If you don't want to sell it and your wife is good with you having it, don't sell it.

Not getting out of bikes... I'm looking for an Interceptor, or Sprint ST... Something with a bit more protection from the elements. I also work odd shifts, so I either leave for work at 5am returning usually at or after dark. Or I'm on graveyards leaving at 9pm, coming home around 7 the next day. I do most of my riding at night after it's cooled off.

Is 4500 too high? I've got more than that in it, with the new tires, chain, service, etc. I'm quite a few hundred over what I'm asking...

I'll throw in a new expandable fieldsheer tail bag with the bike.

Maybe just a bit. I bought my 02 in Jan with 9k for 3700. You can't really ask for maintenance cost, because that is a cost of riding the bike and should not be passed on to the buyer.

Good Luck with the sale or KEEP IT and ENJOY.

If you are just looking for wind protection, take a look at Plexistar 2 or the Plexifaring, both of those are pretty big:

Decided to keep it.

It's just too da*n fun.

(If I don't get layed off...) I will be looking for a stable mate next year to commute with and leave the 919 for backroads fun.
