+1, the Ventura racks are awesome.

Also don't think you can get the side rails anymore for the 9er......haven't called Ventura, but all their resellers don't list the 919.......cycle gear, twistedthrottle, ca sport-touring....

.....get a setup while you can.....

$50 is a steal BTW.......just sold my setup witha small bag for $150......and that was a good, hard to find deal.

I know, I wanted something I could leave on the bike. The ventura is the only thing I like the looks of enough to keep it on.

Lol......had the rear ventura, cortech rear bag, large tank bag and my HUGE Memphis shades touring shield mounted up......was playing around with packing everything getting ready for my trip to the Indy MotoGP. decided to take a twisty route home from work.....ran into a gaggle of 600's and just happened to be wearing my full suit with a little office pent up aggresion that day.....

.......so.....felt the need to work my way through the pack......lol.

If only I could have a picture on my wall of the look on their faces.....all hunched over in their race tuck mode........getting passed by a fully loaded, upright riding, leisure suit wearing, office turd!

I say....leave it on and smile.

The problem with taking it off is. As soon as I do, I will buy something while out riding and wish I had left it on.

Btw- it helps to lube the tubes with a little bel-ray to make taking it on and off easier. I also use to loosen the side bolts of the rails a half turn or so ......if you don't do these 2 things....you'll need a rubber mallet to move it.

Yep, I frequently lubed the tube ends with a bit of gun lube to make removal easier--Breakfree CLP is great stuff--and kept a metric size 4 allen wrench in my pocket to slot into the holes in the knobs in order to turn them.

I've gotten so used to having the convenience, and so careless about looking good, that I leave my hideous Givi topcase and windscreen on most of the time. Kind of perverse to have a naked bike set up as a tourer, but what the heck.
