***SOLD***FS: 06 919 in NoVa

Hey guys, long time no see (Actually I still lurk tons, just not a big poster these days )

Anyways, my wife just gave me permission (yes, I asked!) to get a new bike, but I have to sell the 9er as part of the deal.

I bought her in '09 with a few thousand miles on her and now she's sitting right at 12899. Oil changes annually, performed by yours truly. She came with the Sato slip-ons and integrated tail light when I bought her, and I've since added a wind screen and fuze block under the seat that runs both up front for charging devices (via a powerlet port) and to a trickle charge connector in the seat area. I also added bar end CRG arrow mirrors and adjustable shorty levers up front, as well as racks for a couple of hard cases (both sides and top), the side racks have the quick disconnects so they come off nice and easy. There's also a GPS bag mount on the triple, which works well for phones and larger devices.

The tires are Pirelli Diablo Corsas in good shape.

If I can get 5500 for it I'll let it go with all the fancy whizbangs, if not, I'm open to parting out the things like the windscreen, slip-ons, and hard cases (they work very nicely, but I rarely use them) and racks. If you want the mirrors and Satos, I'll need your stock ones in trade since I've sent those to needy WT'ers already

I'm posting here first before I do a craigslist ad, since I like you guys and figure I'll save CL in case I have to send her back to stock

I'll upload more current pictures once it either stops raining, or I get the jeep out of the way in the garage.

GLWS. Great looking bike with nice mods.

I may be interested in the topcase if you decide to sell separately. Can do a local pickup.

I found (Hopefully!) a good price on a '07 Monster S4RS. I'm still waiting to hear back from the guy, but the fact that the wife will even let me sell mine (she bought it for my birthday ) means that even if this one falls through I can look at other things now. I've always like the Monsters, but I also keep my eye out for the Speed Triples and Tuonos and MV Agusta Brutales as well.

Here's the bike I'm looking at getting. It's an 07 with 24K miles on it. The guy says he has the maintenance records and that it's coming up on it's valve service.

What do you guys think, is it a good deal, or have I been blinded by the thought of an Italian Mistress?

Pics and stuff

Ok, so after taking more pictures, I remembered stuff that I'd added, but left off the initial post: Oxford heated hand grips, and frame sliders. I have the Alu-rack for the top case on the back (Givi e45). So, here are a bunch of pics of the bike as she stands now. I will say I haven't babied her, She rides rain or shine (Usually shine, but there's no forecasting that works well in April!), but she's nice and solid. Any questions just shoot me a PM, and if I decide to part out the bits, I give preference to those that called dibs in this thread.

Well, you guys'll have to share then

I only have two cases for the bike. I got both sets of racks so I could have the option to ride with one or two cases.

So you have a top case that fits the side racks, or side cases that fits top rack ? ... nice. hmmm, let me think if this is worth getting the boot on WristTwisters...
Mike, since you called dibs first on the top rack/case, i don't want to fight you :P . I'll get the side racks and I'll have to figure out some for the cases. And Mr Moderator, it's not Toshi BTW, I'm going this Sat to BRP, coming back via Skyline with another friend if you want to come.

Yeah, it's super convenient. If you want my advice, I'd go with something a little narrower than the e45s for side cases on the 919. It was really wide with them on there. You could basically fit a week's worth of shit in one of them though, which is nice. The nice thing about the racks is that as far as I know they'll fit any of the Givi cases.

So I'm gonna be bumping up my timetable on parting her out, I'm picking up the Ducati tomorrow, so I'm gonna need funds Riki Tik (AKA before my wife gets back from her trip on Saturday ). If I don't hear back from one guy by tonight I'm gonna put all the parts in a separate thread and get them sold off. I'll let you guys know in the morning.

I'll follow Asraiil's advice. I'll go with different cases. As for the Alurack, is too much for me as I have the tunnel bag

that's one nice bike. There are $$ on maintenance though. PM silver duck on this forum, he's got one of those. From what I understand, you will need to replace belts (yes belts, no timing chain) on in too and it can be PITA. Very tight maintenance schedule just like any other Ducati. Ask the owner if he did anything with the tune for those pipes. No PC for these, dealer only. Check the gas tank as it's known to become deformed due to ethanol in US gas.

Mods, I'm going to start a new thread for all the parts, if you want to close this one or change the title to my new price of 4000 OBO for the stock bike (AKA no goodies), I'd be grateful. Thanks!

Oh, and Todi is taking the side racks, so Mike if you still want one of the Givi cases, I'll PM you price details and whatnot. These are the dibs I have from this thread:

Redline - Mirrors and Frame Sliders
Morrow919 - Levers

Went over and picked up a Givi case/ adapter and the side racks for Todi. Asraiil is a good dude and has some nice bikes especially the Monster!

Somebody should his grab his 9'er for sale. It's in tip-top condition with only 12K miles.

well, the 919 finally sold, so I'm back to having one bike. I had a pang of remorse as I walked away after dropping her off. Hopefully it's a good home.
