Off topic, but, DAMN! I am always impressed with how clean some people manage to keep their bikes.

Very nice specimen, good luck with the sale.

Well, shoot, I'd barely get to ride at all in that case! Guess I'll take the dirty bike and more time in the seat. Got to love those Road 3s in a down pour.

Thats always been a big part of the fun of ridding for me. I could never understand how someone can just thrash the crap out of their machine til it dies, then drop it off at the dealer to be fixed.
It's always been important to me to understand how and why something works. As I get older, working on them is as fun as riding them!

Good luck with the sale. That's a nice looking bike.

Based on the data provided it was only driven an average of 28 miles per hour, so the top five gears are probably pristine!

HBR,

If at your venerable age you enjoy the tinkering, you should think about getting an old russian Dnepr sidecar outfit...

Well, fire the engines! Spur this iron space-pony on!

Back about 7-8 years ago ... I almost moved to the Azusa area and take over running Rainbird. Really like the area! Even had a chance to get a round of golf in. Golf and riding motorcycles, two things I've not done much of in years!

If I were in the market for a 919 ... this is the one I'd buy!!!

I work a TON of hours Ottawa! I keep about 45 musicians (guitar & bass players) on the road or in the studio plus work with a few MFG's. If there's any time left, I'm going to ride a dirt bike (my natural habitat).

I was wondering if anybody was going to do the math! Trust me Mike, all the gears got used! It just account for sitting in LA traffic.

I'm not THAT old Shadow! I can still haul ass on dirt bikes for now, so maybe I'll get the sidecar a little ways down the road.

If you had moved here, you would of had a Golf course across the street from your office, Azusa Canyon (HWY 39) and the world famous Glendora Mountain Road just a few feet from your driveway......and lots of sunshine!

On a side note:
My Dad use to do alot of proto-typing for RainBird back in the mid 60's & 70's. I remember Mr. LaFetra (?) and an engineer named Ray Dooley coming over to the house when I was a kid. I guess there was alot of industrial espionage going on at the time, so my Dad would build and work out the bugs on something before they would patent it and have their guys put into production.
My Dad worked at Avery Label for 36 years, but the Rainbird work paid for our Racecars.

Yes they are!
I rode them a little bit back in the early 80's. I can only imagine how good they are now. A friend of mine works for GasGas. She can get me a smokin deal!
