***SOLD***For Sale: 2003 Honda 919

Well, I may end up regretting this decision, but I feel it's time to move on. My beloved 2003 Honda 919 is up for sale.

-Michelin Pilot Road 2 tires
-24k miles on a 2004+ gauge cluster (has clock... no idea actual mileage)
-thorough maintenance log since I've owned it beginning 4/2012
-4-into-1 megaphone exhaust (low mount... no '919 stink')
-'Rebuilt' Arkansas title in hand (just has a red border around it and says REBUILT in 3 different places).
-Scratches on stator and clutch cover that have been there since I've owned the bike
-Most details of the bike can be seen in the '2003 Honda 919' link in my signature
-turn signals don't work... I never use them anyway

I've taken this bike out to the Georgia, the Carolinas, and ridden the Dragon. I've also commuted on this bike and it is the only bike I've ever loved enough to re-register. Just throw a leg over and go. I purchased the bike with 10,7XX miles and have taken good care of her.

$2900 obo, cash talks.

Will deliver for cost of fuel!

Will entertain trade offers, but I'm eyeing a CBR1100XX Blackbird.

Good luck, always fun to try something new! Life's too short to stick with one bike for life! Well unless you can afford multiples!

Well, I looked at a Honda CBR1100XX today... It's definitely the next bike I wish to own! I just have to sell the 919 first

I probably should, but can't afford to keep the 919 and add the XX to the stable. The 919 has been such a wonderful bike, really, but it's time to move on and try something new.

When I first started riding (2003 Shadow 750 Ace) I was all about cruisers. Then the 919 came along and standard bikes became my new favorite class of bike. After seeing the Blackbird and having a ZX6r, I'm leaning towards something sporty with fairings.

Who knows what I'll desire in five years, or ten, but I certainly want to try them all out!

Sold mine (XX), new owner is supposed to pick it up on 10/11.

They (XX) are incredible machines.

I'm looking at another in NC with 7000 miles on it, concerned it might be priced out of my range, but he also has a couple pristine triples that I know are out of my range -

but it never hurts to look!

Just time for something else.

The XX is incredible in all respects.

Faster than it has any right to be, almost comfortable, maybe the best motorcycle I've ever owned.

I've asked myself the same question, but one thing I have learned about motorcycles - You can always buy another.

Considering a turbo bike, may build one.

Go to the XX forum, tons of great info, no attitudes, how it's supposed to be.

Try to find a fuel injected version, 1999 or later. 2001 and later, even better, but thar's splitting hairs....

Historically, I go to the extremes. I guess that is why I have a CT110 on the lift now....

LOL

The internet never ceases to amaze me. This guy took the time to express his anger about my Craigslist ad and the use of tags:

Quote:
You're a retard for using "tags" this isn't fucking eBay. If I'm looking for a ducati monster, or a zx6r why have to look at you're irrelevant bike?
Why can't people just get along? So I replied:

Thank you for your interest in my bike. It astonishes me that you would throw such a tantrum over my ad. I apologize if it caused you any discomfort. I had no idea that I am a retard. If you were in the market for a Ducati Monster, the 919 is a cheaper and more reliable alternative. If you considered looking for a zx6r but needed a more upright seating position and torquey bike, the 919 would be an excellent alternative. But seeing as how narrow-minded your searches are, I am sorry that my bike skanked up your craigslist experience.

SOLD!!! She's going to a very good home. A friend of mine that I go to college with is buying her. The 919 has been such a fantastic bike. Versatile, powerful, easy to ride, and certainly the best bike I've ever owned. It is a huge possibility that I will own another 919 one day.

That said, I'm picking up the Blackbird on Saturday!

What year is the Blackbird that you're getting? Post up some pictures of it when you get it.
I kinda miss the 919, but I really like the Blackbird.

1999 Blackbird, fuel injected, 41k miles, recent tires, chain, sprockets, progressive springs, Heli-bars, heated grips, upgraded cam-chain tensioner.

I'll be the 3rd owner, and the guy I'm buying it from has had it since 2004 when it had 3,300 miles. He has taken it all over the country and is an Iron Butt member.

I can't wait to pick up the mile-munching, pavement-rippling, stump-pulling, rocket-powered sofa

Glad I could help!

Sometimes I love craigslist, but other times people just irritate the crap out of me. When I had my ZX6r and put FOR SALE OR TRADE, it seemed like everyone and their cousin thought they could trade straight up for their Ninja 250 or their beat up 90s Ford Thunderbird. I was about to just say CASH ONLY when someone finally came up with a deal I couldn't resist- 1999 Chevy Silverado ext. cab. Traded the next day and have been driving the truck ever since. I keep in contact with probably a dozen of the people I've made transactions with, from a cop in a neighboring county, an Air Force guy with a VFR800, even an elderly gentleman that I continuously trade car parts like trading cards.

Here she is in her new stable alongside Cruz's KLX250s. To say he's stoked about owning the 919 is an understatement!
