The 919 was originally owned by a police officer in Waterloo. When I bought it the 919 had less than 2,000 miles and the officer was looking to buy a Harley. Since then Iíve used it mostly to commute back and forth to work. The title is clean and I have the title in hand. 4,900 miles.
As far as reliability, like they say itís a Honda. Itís never had one single thing wrong with it besides not being able to start one time. It had the original battery and Iím guessing the original owner let it sit too long without being charged. I replaced the battery and it fired right up. Since then Iíve used a battery tender on it. It has a quick connect to the battery which makes it very easy. Iíve changed the oil/filter at the start of the riding season regardless of mileage. Iíve always used Mobil 1 synthetic.
This is a 2004 model which was the last update of the 919. In 2004, they added adjustable front suspension. This year I had the tires replaced even though they could have lasted a lot longer. I bought the best tires for the bike which are the Michelin Pilot 2ct. They have less than 200 miles on them and still have the stubies. After installation they cost me about $500.
