Let me know if you want me to post it on the local sportbike forum in Louisville. Might get some bites.

Nice bike. Maybe I can talk my wife into it....especially since we've been fighting the carbs on her SV lately. I really like the 599!

It's a great bike, mild mannered until you get on it, then above 6000rpm it really starts to scream. Corners very well and with the new Michelins it sticks like crazy. Easy to handle, lighter and narrower than my 919, with the suspension dropped slightly and the seat shaved my 5'2" ex rode it easily.

nice deal. You should try posting on Honda 599 Forum - Powered by vBulletin.
What bikes do you have left from your collection (avatar)?
Which one do you ride and like the most or I should say which one is the keeper?

I'm not a member over there, would have to join up and make small talk first before I could post a sale ad.

I've sold the Vulcan 500 and have the 599 for sale, both were the soon to be ex's bikes. She's keeping the GS and the Triumph. I still have all my bikes, the FJR, 919 and XR650L. If I had to pick a favorite I'd say it's the FJR, such a smooth and competent machine. I love them all though.

One of the cool things about the MIVV is a removable insert. I modified mine. I think it flows a little better than it did, but doesn't make quite the racket the can does with no insert at all. A can and a jet kit, which I think is a necessity, really wake up that bike.

599s are a ton of fun. It's been detuned some for midrange, but it doesn't feel like it's had the balls cut out of it like a 919. It's reatined some 600 top kick. 8000+ rpm is where the fun really starts. @400 lbs, aprox 90 hp, it's not hard to get the front in the air or a knee on the ground. It's all very controllable. It's a fast bike, but you'd have to do something real stupid to get into trouble on one.

I've seen Sbeau's yellow 599 and his 919. They both looked like brand new, plus, I think he's a real decent guy.

I appreciate the recommendation, not really into the hassle of shipping though. Don't think I'll have much trouble moving it locally come spring time, or it'll be like my 919 and someone will fly in and ride it home.

Just fired up the 599 today and took a short ride, that bike is still a blast! Going to advertise it now that riding weather is approaching so if anyone's interested please let me know.

Oh yeah, it has 9482 miles.

Decided to keep the 599 another season, Gin's riding it this summer and still enjoying the lil' yellow Hornet. Unique machine, really no reason to sell it.

It's only about 20lbs lighter according to the specs, but it feels WAY lighter in reality. Also narrower and easier to toss around.

Kinda like the SV's that I owned. Loved the 650's HATED the 1000. The weight difference is more than 20lbs but it felt like at least 100lbs. I think it has something to do with the heavier crank turning that affects the "flickability" of the bike.

Yeah, not all about weight, distribution and center of gravity has far more impact on how a bike feels.
