Pricing Help 250 rebel

My better half is selling her bike. She's made up her mind she would rather have a sportbike(go figure).Anyway She already has a potential buyer and we have no Ideal what it might be worth.Gotta have a price to start.

It's an 1986 250 rebel.Nice shape but has been sitting.Needs some mech work as in the ex pipe stud broke flush with the eng.

Craiglist wasn't much help as they where asking anywhere from 700-1700.New I don't think there but a 3,000ish.

If I wasn't so far away, I would offer to take it off your hands for couple hundred....I had an '86 Rebel 450 that I really liked. Wouldn't mind trying the 250 as a starter for my wife, but Kentucky is about 20 hours or so away.....

Is the potential buyer a friend? If so, let it go for little $$$ and offer to help them fix it up so you get to have some fun. Or, fix it yourself then sell it for higher $$$.

Few hundred, like the other guys said. Not to discourage you. If it runs, and runs smooth, that will bring up the starting price....maybe 4 or 5. Good luck.
