I could be interested in the tank/front fender/rear cowl

Looking for a set to have re-painted at some time or other.

Why part it out if it's running and in decent shape?

Any after market parts, for example fender eliminator or windshield? I'd be interested in both of those.

There's your plan and then there's God's plan.........
Your's doesn't matter.

Make an offer on parts......Havnt had time to see what the parts are worth....just trying to make my money back....thats why I kinda would like to sell the motor first. I paid $2k for the bike with hopes of a title.

Arrange shipment and I'd be interested in the whole bike for what you have in it. With a bill of sale I can get a title in South Dakota for 5 bucks.

Let me know what your thinking on the tank/plastics though, first dibs/first post on them.

Am I the only person who is questioning this explanation??

No offense, fastnotch, but if I can get a title for a 1974 Yamaha that hadn't been licensed in 20 years and had who knows how many owners, I'm thinking you should be able to title this bike.

To me, something sounds funny here.

It's a snap to title an old bike. A new one, not so much.

nothing fishy here.......I cant do anything with it unless he gets a new title...which isnt happening.....I knew it would probably run into this thats why I got a bill of sale....still registered and in his name....cant say I care.... I knew I can part it out and recoupe my money.....so its time to move on

search my user name on the net...i buy and sell on MANY boards...I own a R1and a Busa...Im as straight as they come

nope...but we are both southern so maybe we just suspect everyone's up to something like we are?

good luck with the buying and selling and he is on several forums, mostly posts on the r1 forum like he said... With the cool name of fast notch i'd thought you'd been more active on the mustang board.

Eitherway good luck selling and stick around awhile after the sell, good place here!

Why didn't you jump on cpg's offer to buy the whole thing? Which part of OH are you in? I have a buddy in Waverly that I might send to check out the engine and some other parts. How much of a PITA would it be to get the engine and a small box of parts sent to TX? Small box of parts being the PGM-FI/ECU unit, and gauge internals (I'd have done the gauges as a whole, but someone else is wanting the 'top half' which I already have)

Yes, why not? Why ruin a perfectly good bike?

To my knowledge there's not many people around that are going to be interested in the engine. Could be wrong, but the bikes (in general) new enough and these things are supposed to last a long long time.

I edited my post a few minutes after I posted it...reason for me wanting the new engine is a small amount of 'structural damage' that has me worried. In the end, I'm going to be spending just as much in repairs as I did on the bike to begin with

Ahhh....if you read all the posts I posted forwardair.com....which is a website he can check out for shipping quotes....the nearest terminal is a hour away but i can take it there for you. Kinda thought that answered the question? Hopefully that does.

I might be overacting but this thread does not ring true. A new member shows up a day ago then offers a complete bike for sale. Hmmm... I can't stop anyone from buying. If you decide to pursue his parts please contact him via email.

Edit: If anyone has a problem please PM me.

This thread is locked down.
