You must post some fine pictures of that o"old" gentleman you are selling. I can say that I am anxious to see it and I bet I'm not alone here.

Re : FT500 Ascot pics ,etc...

Hi People ,

OK , I am crap at cropping pics to fit the forum format ...but here goes . This is when I just got the bike home . I have since cleaned the living s- out of it . It shines like alm ost new now ! Everything black is shiny again ...and I am slowly changing the front tire . I am a big fan of kerosene and toothbrushes ...... yeah godd ol' elbow grease . I just only recently broke down @ age 41 and bought myself a Simoniz pressure washer . I assembled it ...but still haven't even used it !!
I repainted the battery box and the liscence plate holder ...just to freshen up the black shiny parts . I also have done a 3 step waxing on all the bodywork . I may break down and get the fron fender & little tail piece repainted as they are a bit rough ...though the side covers and tank came out quite nice ...even the tank has no dent s ...and there are no scratches anywhere on the stickers.....whew !!! Ok , so I hope the frist image works ....I will post another one of it clean .....if it does .
Cheers,
Ron

Re : more FT500 Ascot pics .....

Yes !!! It worked ! OK so here is another pic of it clean now ! And ...BTW yes I am a Honda product lover ...that is my Element you see in the background . I have had it less than a year & I love it ! It is very practical to shuttle bike parts around in !!!
So another pic of my FT naked for all to see . I am not5 shy to use plastic caplugs to blank off the holes when I am cleaning !! LOL !

Re : FT500 Ascot

Hi Guys ,

Thx for the compliments . Here is another pic of the left side of the bike . I was (ovber the past week) trying to remove the front wheel to change the tire (which BTW was so old that it actually looked like the original ......tons of tread ....but was completely cracked on the sidewalls !!) .
I had a bitch of a time removing the front alxe (again years there !!) and the pinch bolt stripped . I called upon over 25 years of experience and over the weekend used some heat (from a torch ) and good ol' elbow grease with a hammer & a drift . I also was able to rethread my bolt thx to my trusty Canadian Tire tap & die set which was in mint unused condition till I just used it ! And I polished up the front rim with some paste on all the shiny aluminum ribs , etc.. So now all I need to do is get my tire mounted (yeah ...where I bought it ....as I am getting to f-in old to struggle anymore with tire levers and using the drillpress to break the bead....especially on a sportbike tire !! )
I may get the front fender and rear tail resprayed . The sidecovers and tank are in pretty nice shape , though not perfect ...nice for A 28 year old bike . A good fluid change is in order for the bike this week (oil & brake fluid) . I will post some more pics as it goes on .
BTW , if someone can give me a trick how to post better quality pic attachmnets please do tell me how . I am finding right now that I have to reduce my pics in PAINT to 75% /75% with the skew ...... More later ........
Cheers,
Ron
