FS: 1981 Honda C70 Passport

All right dudes. Well, i picked up my Passport a few weeks ago, and in a fit of being tired of fiddling with things, I thought I'd put it up for sale. Bike is in Clarion, IA and should pass the bonding process in the state pretty easily. No title. $350 for my fellow WTers. The craigslist folks are being charged $450.
70CC, 3 speed semi auto. will do 50mph and get 150mpg easy. Needs some cleaning, a set of tires, battery, seat cover, keyswitch and a carb cleaning.

I want one of those but we're like a thousand miles apart. Would be fun for putting around on.

Too bad on the distance. I can't even entice anyone to come here unless you like flat earth and bitter cold. I really have no idea why anyone lives here. Still, let ppl know its for sale. Maybe someone would make the trip. Laters.

OMG, if it does not sell let me know, I'd drive up and pick it up if everything worked out.

Does it run or does it need the carb cleaned to make it functional?

If the buyer lives 500 or more miles away, I'll chip in too. Maybe both gas and purchase money. But, only if they ride it home and post up pictures. My oldest stepbrother rode from Bellevue, Washington to below Portland, Oregon on his 70 (I think it was a Honda) back in the 60's.

I googles Clarion, IA and had no idea you were so far north, close to Canada it seems, well anyway -

It should sell, if not, wait until spring.

They are getting to be somewhat collectible, good machines, fun to ride.

Yea, were quite a way up here. I just might hold onto it. Parts aren't that expensive, and it'll look good next to my C100 Super Cub. Like Father and Son i guess.

I'd like to see a person try it in this weather...
I'm picturing Lloyd & Harry when they pull into Aspen (Dumb&Dumber)

It would not take that much to bring it back, parts are cheap and plentyful too.

There is a guy in Nebraska with fairly well priced parts - DrATV OPERATES HERE

See - whole new carb, $43.00 http://www.dratv.com/c70pacafor19.html

120cc stroker big bore engine - $345.00 http://www.dratv.com/120cceengine.html

I think I saw something about a "clone" in the latest Cycle World - not that I would read that POS magazine......

I'll put $50 toward it (you are 500 miles or more, right). I would expect a bunch of picture and would hope for it to be one "hell" of an adventure for you.

I hope he feels good about what he has decided to do...

He has nixed potentially the best thread and most epic trip in history.

O, i think the trip could still be amazing, just not with mine. i heard about a guy who rode his Honda 50 from Wisconsin to the coast and back, twice. when he got back the second time, he lapped his valves out of guilt, but the bike was running fine. How about if someone wanted to acquire a C70 or Super Cub or whatever closer to them, how about we do a C70 run. They do them all the time in England.... We could write a book.

Hope this makes up for reneging on the sale.
