My bike wasn't that clean when it was new. Very nice bike. Good luck with the sale.

I'd love to say I've seen you around town, but I'm pretty sure there are atleast 3 other asphalt/black 9ers running around town as well. If you still ride, hit me up sometime!

2005's are a Metallic Black or as they say here, the fastest color ever put on a 919, that's why they are so hard to come by. Thanks for the offer, I'll drop you a line sometime. As you can tell from the pics, I don't ride too much.

I don't get it... I have had 4 people come and look at it and all 4 said "WOW... this thing looks new"... but then they feel they have to nego. I guess to feel they can tell there buddies "they stole it"... 4 people looked, all 4 made offers. One at $3500; told him to save $500 more (he had a small dealership). 2 at $3800... both were reaching for their wallet, but just wanted to bust balls over $200. Told them both, sorry... but if you like the bike so much, why would you let $200 stand in your way. The 4 guy offered $4000 (OK, that's good)... and then says "eventually I will need a new chain, brakes and get the suspension setup for a guy my size - 5'8, 165...me? 6' 2" 240 - and yes it is dialed in for me). So he proceeds to back the costs out for the above. I showed him the gate to the driveway.

Anyway, I am moving to NYC and $4000 is a steal. The bike has new Power Pilot 2ct's (NEW)... full service and all records... and so I would feel better, I am picking it up today from the shop as I had NEW front brakes put on it (nothing was wrong with the others, but they were on there for a while and figured fresh pads would do the new owner good). the chain/sprocket is fine. This comes from my mechanic who is a nationally ranked road racer / suspension specialist. He said I was nutz to change them as they are more than fine. Also had him do a full checkout and to let me know what if anything it needed... so fluids are all fresh, brakes... everything lubed and ready to go. All you need to do is adjust the suspension to your size/riding style. $4,000.

I would have taken the 3800.00...Not having to drag the thing 3000 miles across the country would be worth 200 bux to me. I'd re-consider and give the guy a call and see if he's still interested.

That'll work........

Not to bust your balls, but have you seen the 2007 on eBay for Buy It Now $3,400?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=80647

The bike market is really low now. Many people have them as a luxury item and can no longer afford them.

....and so what?

I could care less what a 2007 in Obama's neck of the woods is selling for... or should I list an add for a 2005 selling for $5200 in Arizona???

If you haven't noticed, that 2007 is beat to hell.

Anytime you care to post other classified in my classified... go ahead dipshit...pull your head out of your azz.

I gotta say, I agree with what Cmurphy and 97AF are trying to tell you. The market is down...hence, selling prices are down across the board. if you want to, stay with your $4000 price tag...you will likely end up continuing to be the proud owner of your 2005 Honda 919.

In your shoes, I would have kept negotiating with the guy who wanted to drop the price by $200..you could have knocked the price down a bit, maybe only $100...made a deal work and made a friend. Having bought & sold many vehicles, I would absolutely try to knock the price down a bit on something I'm interested in buying. I'd probably walk away if the seller really would not negotiate. The flip side is that when I'm selling, I expect potential buyers to do this with me and price my stuff accordingly.

There's nothing wrong with being a little magnanimous and letting the other guy feel like he's getting a good deal. Especially when he can go other places and find a deal thats just as good. That guy was hardly trying to rape you...

Well, fire the engines! Spur this iron space-pony on!

Clearly you're living in a dream world. There are dealerships around the country that are still selling NEW leftover 07's for $5999

I love how everyone knows the prices in a region they don't live in. With an 11mo riding 'season', deals are a little harder to come by. And because Stealerships are selling them new at $6000, does not mean that a used one cannot be sold for $4000.

97af... THIS is not about making friends or anything else other than a listing for a bike I want to sell... Having someone who has nothing to add climb in anyone's classified by listing other bikes, well... sucks. IMO, VERY poor taste & with that I have no patience for those who think the keyboard let's them become consumer advocates without checking the first fact on either good or service. I could care less about the "economy"... sure. it sucks for some, but not for others. My bike is not for "some"... it for "others" who appreciate a stellar machine that has been cared for and serviced as if it was a Ferrari sitting in a private collection. You want a beat to shit 07? Fine, go by it. You do not fit my demographic... and my bike is priced more than fair.

Now, if you want to ask about my particular bike, please do...

But if your MO is to tell me about your cousin's ex-girl friend's father's boss once heard about an 07 that sold for $5999 at some dealer in a state next to a popular ride destination that was still in a crate on 4 year old tires... or ANYTHING that has to do with the economy...move on and let those who might be interested be interested.
