**CLOSED**Feeler: parting out 2002 919.

So I've had it for a few years, and have never gotten a roundtoit. I'm in needs of a newer vehicle, and the proceeds from the possible sale would get me a nice down payment. I'm just curious if I can get 'the bulk' pre-sold. There are some items I intend to keep. FPR, Tires/Wheels, TPS/Throttle body. That being said...any interest?

She has been wrecked twice, only once by me. Body work is damaged, tank is dented (and one of the studs for the pump mount is broken), etc... But it's all there....for the most part

I already have another 919. I've held on the 02 as a parts bike/future track bike but have given up on that thought...sans a few parts.

Wanting the whole thing, or just bits and pieces? I'm wanting to part it out to make a few more $$ than if I sold it whole. I can take pics of whatever pieces you want.

velodesign: I have 2 stator covers. One black, one grey. Both are scratched to various degrees. The grey one can be sold without the rest of the engine attached.

Pvster: make an offer. I will throw in the triples if you buy the engine

Monster Go Kart - YouTube

Why bother, someone has already shown how much fun, how terribly useless, and how dangerous one is. I get enough tickets on the bike, I'd just end up with a 900cc impounded go-kart

I love the dunes, but if I were to go on 4 wheels it would be on a sand rail... as in at least 1500cc of flat four fun. I much prefer the CR250 in the dunes, but as far as I know its a 6 hour drive to the closest dunes. Not a fun mid-summer trip in a small ass under powered should have died 100k mi ago s10

Yep, Little Sahara or Kermit - that's why I stopped going. It was fun to build and a blast to ride though. Actually, I sold the mini rail to get my 9'er.

I have done Kermit a few times, Little Sahara is a work in progress... trying to get at least 2/3 of my brothers to show up, and I need a reliable truck for that kind of trip.

Header is in good shape. I will start replying to inquiries once the engine is sold... if it sells. If it doesn't i will be motivated to get it streetable again and sell it that way.

Is the engine useable, no broken mounts? Runs? How much are you looking to get for a bare engine?

Engine is useable. One mount is cracked but repairable. It ran after the wreck but I dont want to tear apart my running one to temporarily transplant it on the old one. Make an offer. You are the second inquirer and i am waiting on a response from #1. I am certain he will be OK with the damage, but shipping may be a nightmare.

Still thinking of the shipping. That'll cost a fortune. If you were closer I'd just drive there to pick it up.

I'm still considering it. Looking into shipping options. It's tough for us Canadians. Don't forget we only make 13k/yr.

86ed. I bought another set but pulled the needle on the speedo, and as far as I know, nobody can reset it. If you just want a tach let me know.

Yes, but unless I get an offer on the engine before Saturday I won't be parting it out. After taking in to consideration the amount of work it will be to take pictures of parts, break it down, pack the items, ship them, chase down deadbeats etc... I think it'll be easier for me to make it streetable and sell it as one whole piece.

Its good, but nobody has bought the engine. This thread will be closing tomorrow unless someone makes a bid on the engine we agree on. I know this has been a pain in the ass for everyone wanting parts but hopefully they will be understanding the need to sell the engine first.
