CBR900 Just for conversation purposes

Link

I have no connection with this sale at all. I just saw it posted on Craigslist down the road from me and two thoughts came to mind... 1. That seems really pricey. 2. That thing looks like it's about .4 seconds from falling over.

Am I out of touch with prices or is that reasonable pricing? If so, I'm putting my RC-51 on there for $12,000

I am surprised when I see used sportbikes for sale, how much they are asking(and probably getting).

I gotta wonder where the "stress cracks" are...

Seems about right for a well cared for bike. That would sell pretty quickly here for that price. The RC-51 is such a niche bike, that you have to find the right buyer that knows what they are looking at. Before the Tuono, I test rode an '04 RC Hayden edition and the guy was asking $6,500. It had not been cared for in the most desirable way though.

That was my first question. As for the price, probably not to far off. The dealership where I traded my 919 in is asking 7500 for it, an '06 with 6500 miles. I think it really depends which authority you look at for pricing. If the dealership had given me blue book value I would have been screwed. NADA values gave me enough to pay off the 919 and walk out with the DR at below cost.

A clean RR might fetch 4K+/-.....lotsa people want top dollar for their older sportbikes, $4-6K.....lotsa buyers don't wanna pay squat...they'll tell you it's only worth $1800......it's just like anything else......if you land in the middle you did OK.....

What's a low baler? Cut rate weed salesman? Midget hay farmer?

Nobody sells their bike to buy a wedding ring and tells the midget hay farmers not to come over.

Yep, low baler? WTF?

It's mechanically perfect. It was done professionally.

It's got "New Breaks". Uh........would that be in the plastic sir?

I guess I'm stuck with the car value mentality... a car that old wouldn't still have over half it's initial worth on the price tag...
