97-99 CBR 900RR header (for 919 conversion)

I bought both of these 97-99 headers on the same day off of Ebay not knowing if either would work for my 919 exhaust conversion. The good news is as it turns out they both will and are virtually identical. One is stainless and one is steel. For now I am looking to sell the steel one just to recoop what I paid for it. Obviously I don't need both and am not looking to profit off of it. I have $100 bucks in it and that's what I'm looking to get back out of it. I will send you the link to my Ebay purchase to prove it. Shipping would be on you. It is in excellent shape and would look new with a coat of high heat paint (which I can do for you). Perfect for the 919 conversion. I live in the Indianapolis area and since I am new here will be happy to give the interested party my phone number to talk to you about it.

I think the black one is from the earlier ninties -

There are slight variations in the muffler mounting flanges, otherwise it will be a great header for someone.

You got me wondering so I went out and put the muffler from the black header onto the stainless header and it's a perfect fit. The two definitely do interchange. Looks like the pipe on the black header extends past the bolt on flange about a half an inch further (into the muffler) than the stainless. Other than that I don't see any other differences. I'm glad you mentioned that because I hadn't checked until you did. Thanks.

Those both look like they're in excellent shape. The steel would could be painted or ceramic coated. I have a steel one I fixed up and painted that was in much worse condition than yours and it cleaned up nice.

Before (with a little cleanup on one pipe):

After:

Yeah..I've painted alot of headers in my day and most were way worse than this one. This one has no pitting whatsoever and looks to have been taken off...probably for an aftermarket one...shortly after it was new. I'll go ahead and paint it just for grins and repost a pic. It'll give me something to do.

Is the header still available? I live in Canada though. Just wondering if it is worth my money for the shipping cost? Any idea how much to ship to Canada?

I believe '96 and later although I'm told they will all work. I don't know...I never got that far.

I think there is a thread here someplace that says only the later ones will work. You should be safe with the later years. I would stay away from the earlier years.
