I strongly recommend a WR450... easy to get plated. a friend of mine has a DRZ400, and is thinking of making the switch too.

wr450f I thought it had for off road use only on the certificate.

You must be seeing shadows causing it to look like carbon, but they are and always been since changed out Stainless Yoshi's.

The original pipes were not even damaged in the low side ran them for another 5k miles afterwards.
