Potential consumers may be a little hesitant due to the low post count of the seller.

Just sayin'

I am nathanm602 on ebay, I have never been on this forum before and am only on here to sell this shock, with no ebay fees. Feel free to look up my profile - 100% feedback, and I have been selling stuff on ebay for years. If no one buys soon, I will throw it on for auction.. I have no problem doing that. Just want to get it sold

What would it take to have this shock set up for a 230lb person? Would it have to be resent to Ohlins and get re valved and a new spring?

..... it doesn't need to be revalved..... simply send it over to LDH and have him swap out the spring for you.... you might even be able to sell or get a credit on the existing spring to save some money....

you won't get any credit. Ohlins has a policy that once a spring is used on the bike, they won't take it back. Don't ask me how they know if it was just installed on the shock or actually used on the bike for riding but they know.

You can always swap the spring, Ohlins spring goes for around $100. See if he sells it for closer to $600, it would worth it then

If this was posted 2 month ago, I would probably buy it. But now I have DRZ to spend money on as well and 919 shock is not a priority at this point. Oh well, nice shock though

Yes, he is correct. To have it set up for your weight, you would just need to get a stiffer spring rate. A new spring from Ohlins - $110. Then sell the existing spring - they go for around $80 used. No re-valving necessary.

Even with the price of a replacement spring it's still an awesome deal! I wish I was in the market for a shock right now.....

If I was to just buy a bigger spring for the stock shock, wouldent that be the same? I dont do track days or anything like that. Just normal touring on the 9er

It won't be the same as Ohlins, obviously. But it would be much better than stock.

I don't think a bigger spring would make it any better. The OEM spring on the 02-03 was way over sprung to begin with. I swapped my '02 shock for an '05 which is much softer.
What year is your bike SML?

Stock spring on 07 is for 185lbs. Stock spring on 03 is for 200lbs. I've tested both springs with my local Ohlins dealer, just for the hack of it. Both are made from crappy steel. 07 spring is very soft in the beginning of the stroke and than ramps up like crazy once you preload it - crappy steel and crappy quality and it's progressively winded
You should see Ohlins spring on the dyno. Very steady and predictable through strokes

Anything would be an upgrade and better than OEM spring. Besides, He is 200+ lbs, both OEM springs are out of range for him

PS. OP, sorry for your thread hijack.

If I wasn't a new home buyer, I'd be on this like LDH correcting an idiot. Sprung a bit heavy for my narrow ass, but it's gotta be better than stock (and atleast it's serviceable)

Sure I will auction it on ebay, with a reserve of course!

This is a night and day difference from the stock shock, from the valving and adjustability, to the consistancy of the shock once it starts getting hot...suspension is the first thing you should upgrade before all the other go fast goodies.

I'm getting PMs about conflicting information on the seller's account info after some have performed a little detective work. As with all deals, proceed with caution.

Hey Andres, no offense but people aren't sure about someone who admits they are only here, as a new user, to sell a part. Your username shows up in other forums with the name Nathan Mitchell. Both names link to the same photobucket account.

Yes, you are correct. My name is Nathan Mitchell. I am a racer with CCS SW, and racer #13. Feel free to check my results for 2009 and 2010 (swroadracing.com). I am selling on behalf of him. He had a 919, sold it, and we are using proceeds from bikes and parts for our 2011 race program (he is a financial sponsor). I have his info in the add as he is responding to any questions about the shock. I understand that people get mixed feelings about buying from a new post'er. Maybe this would have less drama just posting on ebay.. just didn't want to incur any fees, and I know this is a popular site for 919 parts. Feel free to contact me if you are apprehensive.. 602 319 3523.. I can even put you in contact with the actual owner of the shock, Andres.

I think if you had stated this in your original post along with a short introduction and statement of intent, you would have sold it already.

Good luck with your sale.

Not necessarily... I offer Powercommanders to Wristwisters members cheaper than anywhere else on the planet and have had a long standing smokin deal for any Ohlins products and VERY few sales for either product come from this group.

Offer them an unproven, untested ram-air snorkel though & they will line up in droves to buy one

Not that he will be back, but that is what I thought when I read his reply. Just tell it up front and it's all good.
