1974 Yamaha RD250 for sale - newly restored



This bike has been newly restored, and runs as well as it looks. 4,193 original miles! VIN#352-209339. Still has dealer sticker on taillight lens from Lyons Sports Center of Skowhegan, Maine. Starts on the first kick. Everything on this bike has been examined, adjusted, or replaced.

If the bike hasn't sold by then, come see it at the 1st annual Old School/New School Bike Show in historic Norcross, GA.

Work done during the restoration include:
  • Stripped to the frame, all parts painted, including frame and engine cases.
  • New rectifier
  • New turn signal flasher
  • New handlebar brake switch
  • Many new rubber parts, including:
    • Battery box dampers
    • Foot peg rubber
    • Battery band
    • Carb boots
    • Oil tank view port
    • Fork boots
  • Steering head bearings replaced with needle bearings
  • Fuel petcock rebuilt
  • Fuel cap resealed
  • New oil seals around shifter
  • Neutral switch replaced
  • Fork seals replaced, new oil
  • New chain
  • Carbs rebuilt
  • Repainted Dodge Viper Red
  • New reproduction decals

WOW !!!!! Thats a great looking 250 ! I Hate being broke, Ive got a 75 350 and that wold make a killer stable mate - I'd like to think I will have a RD125,250,350 and 400 some day -

Not sure, Mike. According to what I get on the sale of this one, I might pick up another vintage machine. There's a couple things I have my eye on right now, but nothing has really sparked anything yet.

Went to the show and the bike looks better in person. I liked this one even more than the Water Buffalo that showed up.
Unfortunately, I'm at my 2 stroke quota right now.
