Website Layout feedback from new user

First I don't want to come across as bashing the website. As a new user, not only to the website but to the bike itself, I thought it may be beneficial to share my 2 cents from some new to the site and a fresh set of eyes. The website layout is quite confusing trying to gather information. Understandably, "wristtwisters" can be a generic name for anything bike related, however it is well known this is the go to 919 site.

As such, I recommend having a 919 specific Section of the forum. Within this forum; to make things easier to navigate:
- Maintenance/ Common Problems
- FAQ
- Suspension
- Engine/Exhaust
- Touring
- Racing
- Modifications
- General 919 Chat

I was even thinking of potentially crawling this forum and see what data is still valid and what data isn't :P and provide a list of threads to be removed.

So many ideas, so little brain power left after work to do anything :P

Hey there,

Is this suggestion for the mobile view layout or desktop view layout?

Some very fair, due and appreciated musings and suggestions above.
Suggest we find out if the proposed concept is possible, then see if some tweaks would be advantageous.
For example, if Engine and Exhaust is lumped together, then i think that Fuel Injection should be badged as being part of that lump.

I only use the desktop version as of right now. The changes may not be that difficult.

Im all up for suggestions on model sub forums...

As McRomo had stated....engine/exhaust and fuelling is all one

suspension
tires/brakes

How about rebadging Racing to Racing and Track Days?
I doubt anyone is road racing a 919, but lots are tracked.
But there is a drag racing group, and they are for sure racing.
Somehow, by best means, both groups need to be covered.

Ill give an example....Is the 919 a street bike or is it a naked?

What is "wrist twister">Aftermarket.... So if i clicked the naked i get a dump box of info.

So the wrist twister section to should be changed to reflected the 919. I think with some tweaks....Could easily modify the website for both the earlier Cb900s, the 919 and the upcoming 1k.

Thanks,

I escalated this to the other mods and admins for their thoughts on this
Maybe they'll chime in and give some thoughts/opinions
Once we get a positive feedback, we'll make the change

Not wanting to distract, but I couldn't resist the question.

It's an updated UJM.
No current, but updated.
It was barely current when it came out in 02.
But it remains an UJM.
(correctly pronounced as "oo_jum")

You learn something new every day

I know the terms (street vs naked). I'd put the CB as a standard myself; others maybe a sport touring (i'm thinking of the naked SV650 as being labelled as a sport tourer here).

This is why i had recommended moving it to a more specific section with subsections on topic areas.
