GIF images

I am having a difficult time trying to fix this. Can't get any of the GIF images to work on my computer. Don't have any problems at work, just my home computer. Does anyone have any suggestions?

IE or Mozilla?

Animated .gif files can contain code so if your security level is set higher at home than at work it could be blocking them.

IE. I also have a firewall, but took IE off the protect list. I will take a look at the security level though. Thanks.

Weird, huh. I've had this problem with my laptop a few times. Close IE and reopen and the problem goes away. Hasn't been enough to go on the hunt for it, so I'll watch this thread to see if you find anything.

Tried changing all my settings allowing everything, restarting not only IE but the whole darned laptop, and still no joy. Think I might try downloading Mozilla.

Not sure what you mean when you say you can't get GIF's to work -- meaning they won't open? Perhaps the file association for .GIF has been lost in Windows?

Try going to My Computer -> Tools -> Folder Options -> File types -> and scroll down to .GIF file type and see what program is associated with the extension. Set it to IE or whatever program you wish.

Thanks Ken. It was worth a shot, but no joy. I even tried uninstalling and reinstalling IE. Still nothing. So I downloaded Mozilla. It is working out. I see the clapping hands, the rolling smiles, and also more cowbell. Thank you for the help guys. Now if only I could see that blinking eye avatar¿...

I don't know about that, have you tried IE 7 yet? Finally it renders .png transparency!

It was out in beta and two release candidates before being officially released on Tuesday. It's better than IE 6 but has issues, especially with Apache 2 header redirects and PHP. It also has some weird quirks with the nav layout.

I'm loving Firefox 2.0 though!

Ok. Firefox worked for a little bit, but the gif images stopped moving today. I have zonealarm security suite. Does anyone else have this?

Another .gif problem. Tried loading one as my avatar, but it doesn't work. Works everywhere else, but wrist twisters.
