email Blast

I email blasted this morning. Not something I normally do but I feel strongly about this event.
Twice in 2006 I sponsored trackday events at Jennings and both times I had to cancel with very little notice due to not getting enough riders. Although they were understanding enough on the outside I know they wanted to strangle me and I'm probably not welcome to make another attempt to book an event for a while.

I've known the organizer, Brad, for a long time and can honestly say you'd be hard-pressed to find better people in the business. He's pouring alot into this event to make it successful and there's no better opportunity for us to help him sellout and spend a couple days enjoying ourselves.

Look forward to seeing you there!

Jet said any rider any bike. You can take the H-D.

It can be done 16-17 hrs non-stop. How about, Chris, Mike, etc.

It is in November - Veloce will either be running or dead by then. Preferably running. And I should have suits to show, or whatever. Point is... it is in November, I can book tickets now - meaning cheap. And get the sleeping back and stuff ready. I still have two suits at home - trying to sell one - I have my helmet, gloves and boots.

I will be there.... gloves or no gloves... Veloce or no Veloce!

Okay Guys -

I just checked the Jennings Information. The deadline for advance payments is end of September. The actual dates are in November - so plenty of time to prepare for this.

Can we make this a W/T Event? I don't know how many people can make it out there, but it would sure be great if we could make it.

I am in - bike or no bike. Also, just to add to this - after riding at Willow and talking with various organizers and track owners, I know how tough it is to cancel a track day. And two in one year? And then to be able to still have another track day - that says a lot about Jet's relationship with Brad and any one else involved in this.

It will probably be the last time we can all ride for the year - or close to it, so let's make this one a BIG W/T Day.

Jet - Is there any chance Brad would do some kind of W/T Group thing for this? Like maybe give us an October deadline for sign-ups and payments, and maybe we can do a Group Track Day buy. Sounds wild and crazy, but hey - it's coming from me.

CBRXX - If you are really willing to haul bikes down there, should join up with you and ride down together? Or just fly to FL? And... *hic*... ummm... which airport in FL am I going to?

I might not have been too clear on this. Brad owns Superbike Supply, he also owns www.1000rr.net and a portion of 1000RR.com - he's also on this board occasionally. lexus rx is his screen name.

These November 18 & 19 trackdays are his show, his party, and his primary focus (not only focus, just his primary focus) is getting together folks from those boards. Getting 75 riders is a tall order and he knows that. He has been kind enough to allow me to spread the word here too and welcome us with open arms.

Brad's a great guy and a good personal friend and I'd never do anything that might steal his thunder.

That said, if we want to try a Wrist Twisters specific trackday(s) in 2007 I'm game for that. HOWEVER, before I reserve the track with Jennings management we will need enough commitments to cover the cost so we're at least at breakeven so I can write them a check. They'll still do business with me but I refuse to screw the track owner again by reserving a date that I can't cover.

For now, Brad's November event will have tons of great people and his plan includes some great extras like HBS bbq, vendors and other perks.

We also have a few friends among us who have experience booking bigger tracks like VIR, Barber, Laguna - we could get damn near any track you can imagine but some of the costs are HUGE and require enormous rider turnout. All in due time.

I would be down for a road trip to Jennings, for the W/T meet and drink, but I don't foresee the Strom being trackworthy. I volunteer for pit duty.

Still sounds great to me. I get to meet and maybe ride with my W/T friends !!!

Maybe in 2007, we can do as you suggest and look into the feasability of renting out tracks. Possibly do one or two tracks per year - kinda like a gathering of the Wristtwisters.

Then we do battle to the end till there is only one left standing with his Saki and head... "There can only be one" Sorry... got carried away there.

I know I think crazy sometimes, but if we do a 2007 event, I think it should be HUGE!

I can't wait to meet everyone, and we can all get drunk and plan it one night.

Let's get a role call folks. This sounds like a good plan is starting to unfold. So, gents. Do we want WIM to fly to the N.E. and drive down with us or should be just have him meet up with us?

Hmm, lets see its 2925.32 miles from Seattle to Jennings.

Shall I load the RC up in the Van and make a road trip? Gas alone would cost me about $1800. Maybe it would be cheaper to ship the bike there and fly??

Hmm, maybe a bit too much this year.

I think for 2007 if we could plan one more central, it would be more feasable for me.
