Buyer & Seller feedback thread?

I sell & buy lots of parts on WT. It would be nice to have a thread/forum where we can leave buyer and seller + or - feedback. It would be comforting for first time buyers, and as an avid seller it would be nice to hear any feedback from members. Just a thought, it is fairly common on other forums.

Cheers,
Ian

Kind of like each member having a rating?

Something along those lines. Or even a dedicated thread to leave feedback or experiences with buyers and sellers.

I wonder if the admins could add a user reputation feature in the profiles. Like a 1-5 star rating plus a brief 100 character description.

+1, we've been there before. That's why we stick with the 'Thanks' button instead. You can still get at least positive feedback (unless someone misuses the button).

Most of the time others can vouch for a person selling and ease the concerns of the buyer.

But a new guy trying to sell something, well, it's just like low feedback on eBay. Both sides are taking chances.

How about writing a Visitor Message on their profile saying you liked or disliked the way a sell went. Only problem is they can delete a negative message.......

A couple mustang forums I'm in have a system that incorporates that. You leave feedback about your purchase, whether it came as described, communication etc. It was a great tool.
In fact if a seller had bad feedback,or none at all I wouldn't buy any parts from them. Too many scammers, and I got burned once. Never again.
It's a good idea.

Ya. Rep is a joke. If a couple people choose to start a lynch mob your rating goes to hell. Feedback is a completely different thing.

meh, I just get bored easy I guess...

On a serious note, however:

When a "for sale" thread is over and all is sold and 'done', us moderators close the thread with ***SOLD*** at the beginning of the thread title.

I wonder if there is another step somewhere in that process that the moderators could do to 'rep' at least the seller for a successful transaction. Something we can put on their profile or in the thread title. Not sure how we could do something as well for the buyer...

Just throwin' out ideas. I'll run this by the other yahoo moderators and see what they think.

I can't think of any deals that have gone bad amongst members here, off the top of my head. I'm sure it's happened, but it's pretty rare.

If someone breaks this honor code, then tries to sell something again, I am sure that people will post a caution message of some kind.

This forum is by far the best I have dealt with for selling and buying parts. Great members and great deals.
