Top 10 New Motorcycles Around $10,000

I used to think 10 Big Ones was a lot of dough ítill I started pricing new pickup trucks. Now, I realize itís chicken feed. Let me eat cake. Sure, yes, I know there are great used bargains for half that much, but a private sellerís not going to give you a 1% APR for three years like Suzuki does, youíre not going to ride off on the shiniest, newest bike on the block, and you wonít have the inner warmth of knowing youíve done your part to stimulate the moto-economy.

Meh, I would rather put 10k toward a used bike... Maybe 3 bikes in the list I would consider "good" to buy... Maybe-

Yep I agree. I'd look at the last two, but only as good second hand. Not new.

As far as I'm concerned, the used bike market is where it's at, right now. There a lot of really good, very slightly used bikes to be had, at half, or less than half of new. That means no interest payment on a loan, no full coverage insurance if you so choose, maybe fudge a bit on the sales tax. I bought 4 really nice used bikes in the last 3 years. They're cheap! I'm a huge fan of buying used.

However, I think every serious Motorcyclist ought to buy at least one New bike in their lifetime. I saw in person, and sat on the new Kawie Z900, yesterday. They're small. Look a lot better in person also. The price was under $9K, if I remember correctly. Supposedly has a stomping engine. I bet the suspension needs help, tho. Now if I can just find a nice used one....

I've owned a Kawasaki before and I liked it. Went like a rocket. I like the Z900. I really like the look of the supposed new retro Z900. Same engine, different frame and retro style.

The Z900 grabbed my eye immediately. The nostalgia oozes from it's facade.
And the Panigale V4...........................stupendous!

I think the Z900RS is an extremely worthy retro effort.
In addition, it's linked rear suspension and USD forks cover provides some of the modernity that many, if not most, absolutely insist upon today.
I've read a couple of articles, and it sounds like it's quite on target for the intended audience of potential buyers.
Not lost on me is the very short Trail it has, a mere 89 mm.
But that is not of import unless one intended to track it seriously and often, and it could easily be remedied by a reduced offset triple clamp set if one was serious.
If I didn't have my 919, and was looking for a new bike, I'd be seriously contemplating the Z.

That Z900RS is a great looking machine. Better retro look than the new CB1000.

I wonder if it will be cheaper than the honda.

I hope Kawi' sells lots of them and their owners flock to this site.
Of course, a W'Ter having a Z900RS would be a good attraction................

I watched a couple of video reviews of that Kawie, then looked at the Honda1000. All of a sudden the Honda doesn't look nearly a small nice as I thought it did.

Spellcheck is a jerk!

I saw one of those Kawie 900s in Evansville. The black ones don't have quite the retro effect the green and orange ones do. It's a shame they detuned this rendition. Good looking bike.
