Reported Posts

Please do not report posts from Motorcycle.com. Some members are continuing to do this on a consistent basis. If you don't like the content be an adult and skip over it. I, along with other mods and admin, have grown weary of continuing to see these reported. The reporting should be used for important issues, not because you don't like the owner posting a review.
Further abuse of the issue will result in action by the staff.

You can post any comments, issues, or concerns in this section of the site: Wristtwisters Help Desk - Wrist Twisters

I understand the moderators are getting tired of the reports, but if the moderators are not passing it up the chain, then that's on the moderators for not following up on the reports.

Stating that the owner can do whatever they want is a cop out and a sure fire way to run this site into the ground. Just because the owner can, doesn't mean they should. Doesn't help that the moderators are not backing up the user base on this issue. Threatening disciplinary action towards the user base that has protested is messed up to say in the least and makes the moderators complicit. If the moderators are not willing to help address the issue, then the moderators are part of the problem.

Don't be part of the problem....

For clarification: what is the definition the moderators use to determine whether a post is considered spam?

Of course, the complainers are always welcome to start their own site.

That's funny, I don't see you offering a solution anywhere. Nor did the moderators. Thinking that the users do not have a say in the matter, the site is free, and users have to accept anything the owners decide is false. If the spam issue does not affect you, by all means, skip over the issue.

Last time I checked, I had offered a potential solution. It's also my understanding that other members had complained as well. Redirecting traffic away from the forum is not how you generate traffic TO the forum. Less traffic means the site will die eventually.

The moderators threatening disciplinary action because users are reporting what technically is defined as spam was a bad move.

The mods AND admin see the reported posts so you ARE being heard. In the end, the owners will post what they want to. Most of them are in an effort to generate traffic for the forum. You are more than welcome to add the user to your ignore list.

The problem I see is that the threads they are creating are not driving traffic to this forum. They post the same blog link to many forums they own. The mods on the other forums just close the threads so they don't become a donkey show.

If the owners are looking for 'REAL' feedback about the threads they are creating, here it is. Know your audience. Don't create a thread about carrying extra fuel or the latest and greatest cruiser on a sport/naked bike oriented forum. Just like you wouldn't create a post about the best stunt bikes on a Goldwing forum. Generate content that creates some real discussion.

Beware - Rant ahead:

This is how I see it - you guys are riding a free bus. And you are complaining that the owners of that bus are putting ads up relating to other cool 'bus' things, and just because the 'bus' ads weren't the right style, the right color, the right placement in the bus to 'avoid' your eyes, you are getting bitchy (I don't swear often, so take that with some meaning).

If you don't like the bus ride, get off. If you still want the free bus ride, please have some understanding as to how businesses are ran, especially on the internet.

I AM PERFECTLY FINE WITH DEALING WITH A BIT OF ADVERTISEMENT ON THE SITE!!!! Wanna know how I deal with it???? Chrome with Adblock, and if you want to 'ignore' the owner (user) and their associated threads, you can do so by blocking that user so you won't be bothered.

Not only are they trying to not be 'too invasive' they've actually given you tools to ignore them!!!

I am a member of dozens of other forums. This one is the best bar none. But it's that way because of how we handle ourselves and I personally feel we have some great moderators who have done a wonderful job of keeping this site in check. You guys have no idea how much work is done behind the scenes to keep stuff flowing smoothly, so please understand that and take the rest with a grain of salt. Or two.

And again, if you clearly want your free socialist bus ride - go find it elsewhere, because it doesn't exist here.

I'm not so sure you would have the same outlook if you were in our shoes...

That's a sincere statement, not trying to be a d***. We have loyalties to our members as well as the owners of the site.

They could turn this entire site off one day 'just because'. I really don't want that to happen, this is a great place. There has to be some middle ground somewhere.

I was trying to provide constructive criticism to the owners/users. Nothing more nothing less.

And @g00gl3it, I realize this is a 'free bus', but it's not the ONLY free bus around. I've stuck around this long because I agreed with how this site was managed. Mods have been great and there has been a lot of useful discussion... But that only means so much. It may just be the time of year, but it seems like the number of topics is WAY down. I'm also not seeing a lot of new people around. I'm not sure if it's the way things around here are being managed/handled as of late, or if Internet forums are dieing... But something feels off.

For Christ's sake... Can we just go back to discussing how Illbot didn't mention the holes in the seat he sold?

https://www.wristtwisters.com/forums/...low-48081.html

There are plenty of posts on this site that I find no interest in. I skip over them. If I see the same user posting stupid crap, I ignore them. Problem solved. Its a free site with a SHITLOAD of fantastic information. I am willing to deal with a random post that takes me to a different site. There are bigger things to worry about... Like how Illbot just won't fess up to not describing every square millimeter of the seat he sold.

Just play. Have fun. Enjoy the game.

Another RANT. I have an idea. How about you guys post some shit and quit crying? You want to criticize but not contribute. What's the thought behind that? No one owes you anything. It's free! Now, go tear your bike apart and put it back together. Build one or ride the hell out of it and post some pictures! Teach me something! End RANT. Pm me for tissue. I ship daily

How about more posts about 125 and 250/300 starter bikes?
That goes right along with the post on checking your tires.
