Personal Update

As for the CBR600RR... I'm keeping it! It's been in storage for two years, the wife won't ride, I attempted to sell it many times. Someone gave me a deposit but won't give me the rest of the money so I'm just gonna rebuild it myself. I got a new job at Acura (I'm still in the National Guard and a full time college student) so I have a shop to work on it. I have an awesome boss who let's me work on family vehicles and store the bike next to my bay to tinker with between jobs. I have the one specialty tool that's required to drop the motor in the mail, and about to order a few more little parts that Robtharlson indicated I might need. I'm just gonna replace everything that might be wrong with it while it's all apart (not shifting). Pics to come!

Now for the real question... Streetfighter or full fairings? I might go with a set of Delkevic fairings painted in Honda Electron Blue Pearl (same as my Prelude). Either way, I want dirtbike handlebars.

Waiting on a specialty tool to remove the locking castle nut, then I will be dropping the motor, separating the cases, replacing the shift forks, a spindle shaft, and a funky star shaped nut. Cross your fingers that it will shift again!

Now for the fun part. What theme do I go with? I would like to do some dirtbike handlebars (Renthal UltraLows of course), but I don't know if I wanna make a street fighter or a full faired bike. My fairings are pretty bashed up, and it would be a half faired bike aka stunt bike. A full faired bike would have the appeal to it, but anyone would be able to tell it's 9 years old. A street fighter is unique, fun, but wouldn't have the resell a standard sportbike would. Let's hear the input. I was looking at some Spiegeler kits, but might just drill the top yoke and add some risers to the factory parts.

Your name gives it away already... and you want dirt bike bars -- fighter it.

Fairings are better for the interstate. I'm going to do some research, and figure out costs. As of now I'm just going to get it running, street legal, and figure out what theme to do in the next few months.
