Moving

Well, it's looks like I'm off to Edmonton Alberta this summer. I just got out of the meeting with my career manager. He said staying here in Newbrunsick was not an option, so he let me choose.
Looks like I'm gonna need some new riding buds.

Sweet! Mr.t81 is up there. We meet up a couple times a year to go riding. Firedave isn't too far away either.

It was nice riding with you when we had the chance. I doubt you'll want to go anywhere near boston from that far away!

Thanks Matt. I was a great trip. Of course I wish I saw more and stayed longer. Perhaps I will get posted back to this area in a few years.
Thanks for taking the time to meet up with us.

Will do Dave. Though you will not get me on the track. As much as I know about the track (what you learn and how safe it really is), my wife feels differently, so I promised her I would stay off the track. At least until my bike is fully paid for.
I really want to get riding in the mountains.
Hope to meet you guys this summer.

I know different companies do things differently, but I'm curious.
Whats a 'career manager' ?

I'm a electronics optics technician in the Canadian military. The career manager has to move people around the country in order to fill high priority positions. Usually one manager for each trade. They usually promote you and move you into a more leadership role. The idea is that you can be a better boss to people you don't know as opposed to now being the boss of your former peers. They also control career training and overseas tours. I am now going to a more deployable unit that does a lot of exercises. It's a light infantry unit. They also have a para company. Shit! I hope I'm not going there! I'm 35years old, 5"7', about 220lbs, broad and thick. Not exactly ideal for jumping out of perfectly good aircrafts.

That's great, you will love riding in the mountains...
Trackdays are great, you don't have to take chances
if you don't feel comfortable...
Let me know if I can do anything to help...

Great news! It's too bad it's Edmonton though. Their weather sucks compared to Calgary. Looking forward to meeting you.

Not riding but driving with wife and kids. I promised the kids we would do marineland if we had to move. It's gonna be a long drive. Still undecided wether to ship or tow the bike.

As for riding yet.... We just hat 12" of snow Tuesday night. It will be a while before I get out.
I'm going to be sooo jealous of the Calgary chinooks.

I was out riding two days ago. I may go out tomorrow and Sunday. Our road aren't only free of snow and ice, but their dry also. Bahaha. I pity you Canadians who have winters.
I'll ride your bike out here for you. Just fly me out and I'll make it my holidays.

update!
I am back from my house hunting trip. Jebus that market is tough out there. It was very stressful at times but we were successful in the end. We bought a new duplex in Fort Saskatchewan. 3 bedrooms, nice kitchen, en-suite bath in the master, walk in closet, full basement (unfinished, plumbed for wash room)(I can picture my man cave now) and most important... 2 car garage.
8.7KMs from the race track
Welcome to Stratotech Park
I must contain myself!!
We are real excited to move into our first home. ETA 8 July.

P.S. If anyone is looking to buy in the Edmonton area, I have the BEST real estate agent ever to recommend.

Winter there is much worse than where I am. Even though its only three hours north. At least you'll have a track, ours closed last year. Grrrrr.

Update!

I'm now in alberta! Signed the papers for the house on Monday and the movers arrived today.
It was nice to see the 919 again! I didn't have time to ride though.... Unpacking sucks!
I can't seem to find my helmet anywhere...lol
Gotta get legal tomorrow! Traveling to Calgary (Cochrane) on Sunday to visit my big bro for the week. Still no riding until late next week...
On a good note, I met the neighbors this week and they seam great! The kids have new friends and the wife is happy too. (Happy wife, happy life)

Anyone want to meet up for a ride sometime "next" weekend? 20th or 21st? I gotta get out for a ride!
