will stock lines allow 1" bar risers?

Just want to know if anyone has stock bar + lines and run a 1" riser? I can't remember if I had asked this yet or not...

Thanks all.

I may not have a lot to say but it doesn't mean I don't listen.

no. 3/4 is about the max you can go and it will even limit how much you can tilt down the bars.

Thanks for the reply...although depressing kind of. I hate fussing with the brake system...too many things that could go seriously wrong for a simple minded mistake I always seem to make when wrenching.

Now not only will I be getting new springs for the front with new fork oil, I will need to do the lines at the same time...might as well upgrade to stainless all around then...and I hate bleeding brakes.

Then, its off to rise the bars a bit...

Thanks pv!

Hold on there... I have risers that lift the bars 1" up and 1" back, they worked with the stock brake lines, they were a bit snug but it worked.

I put the renthal mediums on my bike. A little clever rerouting of lines (didn't have to disconnect anything) and everything has enough play to go to both stops without putting weird tension on anything.

Hey rmb, define snug? I'm going to try just a riser that goes up 1", but not back an inch.

i guess i stand corrected then! i have 3/4 risers and could barely get them to work. couldnt tilt the bars down much due to the brake lines so maybe it was me that fucked up something lol.

i trust rmb, if he says he got it to work then you surely can.

I could move it (top line) a little, no problem turning the bars lock to lock.
