Water in the tank after rain. How to clean drain passage.

I went to fill up, opened the gas cap and there was water around the edge from the rain. I used a few paper towels to get the water out, but a bit did get into the tank. I thought there was some kinda drain passage there.

Is there a passage and does it have a hose somewhere? Is there a certain way to clean it out? Maybe a welding wire or run air or carb cleaner?

I would throw some seafoam / marine Stabil in the tank... and top her off and you will be fine.

IT SHOULD drain, but lots of times the overflow / drain tube for around the cap can get pinched. It comes out just below the throttle side foot peg.
