Twitchy tach - is it a problem?

Hey guys,

so i've seen a few postings on the "twitchy" tach for the 919s... i've thought mine was operating normally until i read a post where someone mentioned its a problem.

i was hoping i could describe what mine is doing and you could tell me if its an issue:

idle is at 1200rpm ... it fluctuates between 1100-1300 "twitches" while in neutral if i bring it up to 1500 rpm it still twitches and even at 1700rpm. It starts to get solid past 2000rpm.

if im riding the bike, under load it will stay mostly steady when im putzing along at 1500rpm. There is occasionally some lurching around 1500rpm and below depending on load.

Is this normal?

Are you asking about just a fluctuation in the position of the tach needle on the dial, or are the engine revs doing the fluctuating too?
