Tachometer backlight bulb replacement?

The backlight on the tach on my '04 919 is out. I got the bulb from the dealer, but I'm not sure how to get to it.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

Let's treat this like a Haynes howto.

Step 1. Remove engine, refer to section 3.

Step 2. Ignore the jackass first statement.

It's fairly simple. There are 5 screws that hold the covers on. You will likely need to pull the gauges to get the screws out. Once you get the screws out, it's all floppy in place IIRC. It's not all that difficult. Get you a factory service manual for the exact procedure (search the forums here)

From memory, remove headlight and bucket, 5 screws on the back of the gauge housing, remove bad bulb, replace and put back in reverse. Time 15 minutes. Difficultly level: 3 only cause you will have to readjust your headlight.
