Swing arm bolt swap, is there any pics of this process?

Getting ready for a new chain/sprocket and want to look at the bolt swap.

I get the general idea of this, you take a nut/bolt at the swing arm and switch it so that the nut is on the other side. I'd like to see some pics and understand what we gain from doing this, you can install a chain without removing the swing arm?

Bugger. I had my chain off last weekend and would've taken loads of pics had I known. All I could find was this one from ages ago. The bolt looks reversed already but I did this by tapping through the rear axle bolt as I pulled out the swing arm bolt.
