Steering stem pics and measurements?

So, I've been collecting up resources for the USD front-end mod, but before I have the Emig stem pressed into the donor triples, has anyone got a std 919 lower clamp and stem on a shelf somewhere that they could post a pic of? I might have to sleeve the bottom of the Emig stem, and I'm wondering about bearing spacings and how much the new stem should be pushed thru and such.

TIA if you can help.

Happy to see that Emig stem getting used, which lower clamp are you using?

Hey, man!

I've got a full set of stuff from a KTM Duke II, and the match up process is going pretty well actually. I'll need a collar on the top clamp, but the stem doesn't need anything at the bottom. And it looks like the axle is just going to need a sleeve at one end for the wheel to fit. Calipers will be close too....

USD conversion - if the new headlight bracket could manage to find its way here from Australia, I'd just about be in business....

What's the deal with the headlight bracket? Is that all that's keeping the bike off the road?

Yes. I ordered a fork mounted one from Coff's Harbour, and it's disappeared off the track and trace system somewhere over the Tasman Sea.

Yeah, so, got tired of waiting for the arrival of the headlight brackets and built a cheap-n-nasty one out of alloy, to get me around the block. Good news is that I haven't made the handling weird...finishing touches will be the actual headlight mounts, over-sized disks and some ex-Ducati Brembo calipers that need a little machining...

Hung the headlight and blinkers from proper brackets, re-installed the screen...still have to do the over-sized disks and Brembo calipers [and locate those brake lines!] , but it's getting there.

So. Pretty much done. Brembo calipers in place, working on over-sized disks. Still not persuaded I've got the brake lines right, they might get a different alignment, maybe straight down the fork legs.

Many thanks to all those members, past and present, who posted about the USD mod.
