Working on a project this morning, I needed the trans ratios for an '04 GSXR 750, and came across this site: Gearing Commander: Motorcycle Speed, RPM, Chain & Sprockets Calculator
It has over 1,000 motorcycles listed and will calculate a variety of parameters that are quite useful. Using it, I was able to find a gear set that fell right into the gear spreads / RPM drops for engine design I'm working on. Of course I double checked the information provided and it was spot on. Very cool!
If it has already been done, it is safe to assume it is possible to do it.
On the other hand, if it has not been done never assume it is impossible to do it.

Nice. Boy, where was this 15 years ago during my bike powered mini sand rail building days? I remember the most important and most difficult spec to find was the primary drive ratio. The transmission input can be geared down as much as 50% of crankshaft rpm. Most of us were not using speedometers and needed to calculate speed in a given gear at a given rpm while figuring in sprocket ratios, tire diameter and feet traveled per axle revolution.
