Repacking Sato Slip-ons

Guys,

I'm looking in the Helpful Topics for 919 Owners post and the link for Repacking Sato Slip-ons. But, when I open the link I see only five posts and no info at all regarding Satos. Am I missing something? Was the repacking post moved to another location?

Thanks.

Repacked Satos

Got the cans repacked and what a difference in the exhaust note! Before: raspy and harsh. After: smooth, mello, deep and rich. Found some steel wool and rolls of fiberglass at Home Depot that were EXACTLY the right size and some 5/32" large head pop rivets and did both cans for about $20. The original packing that came out was completely intact but hard and dense as hell with mocho carbon deposits near the perf tubes. Perf tubes themselves were in perfect condition although covered with black soot. Wondering if the packing was that way from the start of just became so after 18k miles. All I know is, they sound great now. Whole bike feels different.

I called them through this site. Very helpful over there.
Yoshimura R&D

I needed packing for one of my Yosh pipes off my 1999 CBR900, and they couldn't stop asking questions of what I did to the bike lol.

All I wanted was repacking info haha.

Cheers,
-Mike
