removing FP from 919 gas tank ?

I am going to take my tank off and remove the FP to fix a dent in my tank. I looked up on how to do this and it seems simple. One thing that does bother me is it looks from pictures that there is a internal pair of long wires connected to the FP. how do i unplug them to remove the FP ?. What do they do . Is the hole big enough to reach in and unplug them.
Thanks

There is no internal wiring to disconnect. There is a fuel level sensor which comes out with the main unit. There is an external 3 pin connector/wire which is part of the pump.
