Rear Wheel Question

So I've pretty much gone through my first D616 rear in 4k. I'm looking for better stick in the loose stuff anyway. I'm thinking Tourance but all the dual sport tire charts quit at 150/70/17.

Is there a 4.5" wide wheel out there, 599 maybe, that will bolt up to the 919?

Maybe Pirelli Scorpion Trail or Contil Trail Attack Dual-Sport?
And than put something more aggressive on the front to keep front from walking. It's easier to manage the rear in loose stuff but you want your front planted

What about an Avon Distanzia, not sure if they come in the proper size. Maybe search for other dirt orieneted supermoto tires.

Yes, I've been following similar projects on ADV and the consensus seems to be that the Dunlop is as good or better than these. Success has been reported running a 130/80/17 of 120/90/17 Tourance (rear) up front mounted backwards. This would likely require fender mods.

Anakee, Tourance and Distanzia don't come bigger than 150/70/17 which is why I'm thinking narrower wheel.

Anyway, I just pulled the trigger on another D616 which I plan on wearing out on my big trip next month. So I guess I'll deal with it when I get back. Gotta ride.

Yep - dozens of ADV inmates await this tire's June 2012 arrival with baited breath.

I don't think I want to go THAT gnarly - especially at THAT price.
Perhaps I should focus on getting two complete sets of tires and wheels: Storm St on one and Tourance on the other.
