Question about 919 chain adjustment...

Hey guys,

The chain on my 919 is geting a little loose. The adjusters are all the way out though.

The local shop took a look and said the chain and sprockets are fine, amd that I just need to take a link out of the chain.

I am mechanically inclined, and have a boatload of tools, and the chain has a master link.

My question is this... I have seen some folks referring to shortening thier chain by 2 links at a time. My bike has stock sprockets, and 114 link chain. Can I take out just one link, or do they have to be taken out in pairs?

Any help is appreciated!

You have to take out 2 links, because the master link has outside plates, if you only take out 1 link, you be trying to connect an outside plate to an outside plate. You have to connect an outside to an inside.
