protaper countour bar buzz

So I have been reading a few threads about Buzzing bars and I am starting to get just as annoyed as you guys. I bought my 9er with a protaper contour CR mid bar on it. It is a really nice bar and I also have bar end mirrors (see pics, sorry, still haven't figured out how to put big pics on, might be low quality ). I am getting a horrible buzz at about 4800-5100 RPMs if I drive her nice.

I am not very savvy like a lot of you WT guys are about understanding how to hack saw bar end weights and using different bolts and what not. Does anyone have any idea what I can do? The bar is really nice and wide, has a cool street fighter look, but the buzz just bugs the crap out of me. And then it makes me paranoid that I am hearing other noises too

I need a solution, maybe something I can put off till the snow comes, but it is really getting on my nerves.

Thanks for all your help with my n00bness

with bar end mirrors you wont be able to run bar end weights.

That said... the 919 just seems to be overall naturally harmonic right around 4500rpms... theres no way of getting around the buzz completely.

THAT SAID, the best thing that i have found, a throttle lock, that way you can take your right hand off / very LIGHTLY hold the throttle to keep the bike in a straight line while say on the highway.

Thats a bummer. so the only thing would be to put on mirrors in the regular spot and put weights on then?

Never tried it but barsnake says you can use bar end mirrors with their product

look at Motovation universal bar end weights/sliders. they have a removable

ring to allow you to use bar end mirrors.

The barsnake looks kind of interesting... as for the motovation bar ends, I would love them if they weren't $100 for a set motovation stuff is so expensive! But it is nice to know there is alternatives to my problem. I really like having the bar end mirrors.

I use LSL bar end weights on my Renthal ULs and have bar end OD clamp type CRG mirrors.
Bars don't buzz.
Mirrors are crystal clear.

I know the pro taper contour is oversized (i think 1-1/8") Those LSL bar ends are nice, I am just not sure what I need to measure to make sure they fit.

Paging PVster - he used a lathe to cut down the stock bar ends, then clamped the bar end mirrors to those - so he got the best of both worlds.

I'm sure you could do something like that.

Another option is to get thicker bars in the middle. Rizoma conical bars are 29mm in the center (you need their riser adapters as well) but worked great on my 919... They are pricey, however.

Well I really like the protaper bar. Its got a good look and fit and rides well. I am hoping those LSL's that Mcromo was talking about would work. I am just not sure as to where/how to measure the diameter. I am assuming it means that I need to measure the hole opening to make sure the bar ends would fit properly.

Bar inner bore.
LSLs were for Coerce, another thick wall aluminum bar.
The LSLs fit the Renthals perfectly.
Gosh, I have spare Renthals !
Let me go measure for you !
Nominal 14 mm bore.
Spare LSLs on hand as well, a wee bit less than 14 mm where they do in the bars.
Checked those too.
P/N 135-003VA (unless that is bar code from the sellers warehouse)
