New Tire noise

I picked up a new rear tire (Pilot Power 2CT) and I noticed significant road noise coming off of it.. is this normal? I don't remember that with other new tires I've gotten. It's a higher end tire than I had before, with 2 compounds... it also seemed to give me significantly better mileage (although I didn't get a chance to check that for sure before )

have you check the tire pressure. Is the chain adjusted properly?

pressure was at 38, I normally ride 38-42 and I did the chain maintenance when I put the wheel back on.

did you install the tire yourself? Was it properly balanced?

No the shop did.. it seems balanced... it just gave off that road noise whirrrrr more, or maybe just a different note so I noticed it more.
