need a new drive belt

I need a new drive belt for my 88 savage. Local bike shop quoted me $250! I took a sec to look online, didnt find much. Anyone know of an online store? 250 seems kinda steep. Also got quoted $100 for a front tire. That seems reasonable but I was curious if anyone gets better deals ordering tires online too.

The drive belt is an HTD (High Torque Drive) type with a round tooth profile. Unfortunately the tooth count is 133, which is smack between the standard belt tooth count of 130 or 135 teeth. What you need to do is measure the width and pitch of the belt (distance from one tooth to the belt to the next at the same point, probably 14mm), and shop around for Goodyear, Gates, Bando, etcetera.

Did a quick search and found a pretty good source, but nothing with 133 teeth.

Checked Ron Ayers microfiche for a belt and it's listed at $184, and is 133 teeth.

As to the front tire -- if I remember correctly it's a 100/90-19, and since the bike isn't exactly a road burner ... the lowest price I could find is around $75 for a name brand, in this case from Chaparral Motorsports. Bridgestone Exedra Max Bias Ply Front Tire - Chaparral Motorsports There are certainly other online retailers that will be competitive with that price.

The rest is up to you.

Good luck.

Rob

If it has already been done, it is safe to assume it is possible to do it.
On the other hand, if it has not been done never assume it is impossible to do it.
