Michelin Race Tire Date Codes

Can anyone tell me where exactly are the date codes on a Michelin Pilot race tire? There are several numbers on the tire which could fit the four digit date code format. I need to know which of the various numbers (location) is the proper one to look at.
Thanks,
JohnnyB

Next to the DOT identification number there is a 4 digit code. My Pilot Power 2CT shows 2707. Manufactured 27th week of 2007.

Hope this helps.

Mike, is that the week or "Julian Date"? 270th day of 2007? Just asking. I have always used "Julian Days" in production track in my industries; medical, pharma, CPG, etc.

Pretty sure tire makers use the 2 digit week 2 digit year method.

Good to know ... thanks.

I wasn't certain if there was a certain order to being able to track to the date, shift, and machine ...

These are REAL race tires , there is no DOT number...because of course they are not DOT legal (as in "not for highway use" in big letters). I've since been told that rull on race tires have no date codes....which I found kind of unusual. There are no numbers on the left side of the tire, all the numbers are on the right. There is a very small bar code sticker on the right also, down on the bead.

In that case simply look for signs of 'dry rot'

JB, I don't remember since it has been so long since I sold a pair of slicks but, perhaps, e-mailing LDH or placing a call to Dan Kyle can solve your problem?
